Back after a break with some new walking videos! Starting with a short walk in the center of Turku, Finland in the beginning of August. It was quite a rainy day but fortunately I managed to avoid the rain!

Very enjoyable, thank you for the video. It did make me wonder….what is up with the building at time 20:51? Kirpputori….flea market? And then the ladies near the river with the tablets, times 26:15 and 27:16? I like the ending with the kirkko..church. Take care.

Thank you! There is a conflict going on about the building, the owner (a newspaper company) wants to demolish it and build a concrete apartment building instead. But since it is a unique wooden building most people want to preserve it. Recently the contracts for many businesses ended and they moved out (the fleamarket among others). The owner has not been maintaining it though, in the hope that it would become beyond repair. It is a common tactic for getting rid of unwanted wooden buildings, to stop maintaining them or they "mysteriously" burn down (a recent example: pledgetimes.com/hs-turku-a-sea-of-flames-engulfed-a-two-hundred-year-old-conservation-site-a-terrible-incident/). It is still undecided what will happen, but I think it will be preserved since it is an iconic building right in the center.

and the women, they are trying to get donations for Greenpeace. Usually there are representatives for different organizations doing this during summer.

@@calmexploration not sure if my previous comment got attached. I do hate to see the "old" building go away. I do think the owner will make more money from an apartment building.
