The first song I've heard was "Speeding Cars" and since that time I'm already addicted to Patrick's voice...it's so hipnotic... so damn enticing... he purrs so amazingly... I can't stop listening to him... when I'm not able to listen to their music I literally miss the sound...this feeling of missing his voice even starts to hurt... I'm actually addicted... I'm gone... THANK YOU SO MUCH

If you consider the fact that the camera angle of the last shot is from where the boy seems to be standing, the fact that the camera work is shaky (unlike the vast majority of the video) and that the camera is focused (zoomed in) on the girl, you can conclude that it is representing the boy's point of view at that moment. Because the scene goes to black (instead of just ending the music video) you can assume this is what happened from the boy's point of view. He saw only black, meaning he stopped seeing anything, meaning he died.
