Walking the Camino de Santiago is a transformative journey that transcends mere physical exertion; it's a profound odyssey of self-discovery and spiritual renewal. Each step along the ancient pilgrim route unveils a tapestry of breath-taking landscapes, from rugged mountains to sun-kissed vineyards, weaving a narrative of both personal introspection and communal camaraderie. Amidst the rhythmic cadence of footfalls and the serenity of quiet reflection, pilgrims from all walks of life converge, forging deep bonds and sharing stories beneath the vast expanse of a starlit Spanish sky. In this sacred pilgrimage, every blister, every ache, is imbued with meaning, a testament to the resilience of the human spirit and the boundless beauty of the journey itself. This is my journey. I hope it inspires you to one day walk the Camino.

Thanks for sharing. I just got back from a 3 month camino, i started from home in Belgium, walked through France and then walked the camino Frances and continued to Muxia and Finisterre. I really enjoyed watching your video, took me back 🙂

Doing it in jeans was a little naive but it worked for me. I hope you get to walk the Camino one day... jeans or no jeans.

Fantastic video. I’ll never be able to walk the Camino due to health, so I appreciate videos like yours. Great videography and for it being 10 years ago, fantastic “staging”! Buen Camino.

Thanks for the comment. Generally those months just before and after winter are not as crowded especially before Sarria. I walked in January one time a few years back and there was hardly anyone on the Camino that time of year but lots of rain!

Hi Dean, what time of the year did you walk? Presume it was early with snow on the hills, but was there any issues with restaurants and albergees being closed, you mentioned very small numbers on it so am curious does that translate into less options for food & accom. Hoping to walk it this autumn or next spring. Thanks

I started on the 1st of April which I believe is the official start of the season in Saint Jean. No problems with accommodation this time of year although this is 10 years ago so maybe things have changed, especially in the summer months. Autumn or spring are definitely the better months to walk although I have walked in winter and found it just as enjoyable.

I started on the 1st of April until May 8th. I would recommend anytime before June if you don't want crowds and the heat and September or October for later in the year. I also walked in winter one time (January/February) and enjoyed it although there was a fair bit of rain about.
