I agree with your overall take on how someone else’s lived experience shouldn’t stop jokes on that particular topic, but I think Dave Chapelle more than deserves the outrage he has gotten for his transphobic jokes. The issue with his jokes wasn’t that he was making jokes about the LGBTQ+ community, but that his jokes were also ignorant and were perpetuating harmful beliefs. In his bit about trans people on the Sticks and Stones special, he compared a trans person coming out, to him waking up and identifying as a Chinese person. In a society where most people are still ignorant about trans people, Chapelle reinforced that ignorance by basically saying them coming out is just as crazy as someone waking up the next day and just identifying to be a different race (very similar to the edgy “I identify as an attack helicopter” meme from 2014.) It indicates a lack of understanding of trans issues and is pretty harmful considering how highly he is regarded as a standup comedian. The Bill Burr video is a great example because Bill Burr seems to understand the issues women face when it comes to domestic violence, and he acknowledges it, and then talks about the other side. What makes it even better is, I think, the fact that his bit is based on his lived experiences, while Chapelle’s bit comes across as very shallow and ignorant because he had no idea what he was talking about and is based on what other ignorant people say about trans people.

I think what she meant is that women's izzat is unnecessarily glorified in our society. Of Course rape is a worst experience to go through for both the genders but for women its meaning changes significantly. In a patriarchal society like ours, women are still seen as commodities. If anything happens to her virginity, society treats her as if her entire life has no meaning left. As if her entire identity revolves around her sexuality only. Maybe she meant in that context that women's honor is important but it's not everything. Her life is more important and rape as a crime even though is horrific but overhyped in our society considering there are so many brutal things exists than rape.

20:50 it’s difficult to just use audience laughter as a gauging mechanism for “is it a good/appropriate joke?” after a certain point, comedians build a persona which attracts a specific crowd. Trans people aren’t going to Dave Chapelle shows how BJP supporters don’t come to Kunal Kamra stand-ups. So you kinda stop getting that friction because of an eco chamber you built around your work, mostly unintentionally
