I miss that place. That used to be the place to hang out at back in the 80's. Then go to Ridge Theater for a movie. Thanks for the share. 😁😁

Oh man, I used to love Ridge Cinema, too. That big purple theater downstairs where the big movies played was the best. I remember going to see Back to the Future there and it was packed. Good times.

🍀 my first "adult" job was at Recency (in the late 80s)! This is awesome reliving it again😊.

Super depressing! I worked there and attended my High School marketing class there (in a classroom inside of Sears). I have so many memories at Regency! I'm shocked that they were even able to afford to keep the lights on. Thank you for sharing!

I'm from the W End, now live in New Kent. It's quite a pity. My last visit the food court and most of downstairs were closed off. Well let's face it. The economy done took some hits. People a lot of times just get their things from WalMart. And in my case sometimes the thrift stores. So much cheaper. However I still went in there from time to time to take in the luxurious atmosphere. I grew up in the 80s and 90s when it was a happening place. But they already have condos out there as this mall, Va Center and many dead malls are being made into New Urban communities and lifestyle centers where there are multi level apartment/condo bldgs and shopping, which, and I love the suburbs and glad they being reimagined to mitigate suburban sprawl
