A nightlife hub with fame that extends beyond London and the UK, Camden is renowned for its clubs, bars, and electric atmosphere. But as a Londoner, it means something a little different to me: namely, how well it brings together a functional manmade environment with nature. This video picks up from where my last video of the area ended (check it out here: • Summer heatwave in Lit... ), and blends raucous bars and live music with newborn waterfowl and wild plants.
Regent's Canal is a treasure and one of the most pleasant places to walk in London, and it really spans the whole gamut of what's on offer in the city. We're lucky to have it, too, because once upon a time, serious thought was given to turning it into a train track. Imagine how much we would've lost if that happened!
This walk starts at Regent's Park on the canal near the Feng Shang Princess floating restaurant, and weaves through Camden, past Camden Market toward Gasholder Park and Coal Drops Yard. It ends on Euston Road outside Kings Cross train station. I gotta say, cleaning the outside of St Pancras looks unenviable!! (57:08)

Postscript: We don't go into Coal Drops Yard (or any of the other Kings Cross facilities) because I've found the security there to be very unpleasant and had a pretty terrible experience with them in the past (And I'm not the only one: www.nicholasgooddenphotograph... ). Some parts of the video are muted for copyright reasons, which is a shame, because the street performer around the bridge at 12:55 is actually very good. You can find her on Instagram at lea_nessa1.
