Alexander chose this location in Egypt for Alexandria due to its superb location to access the trade routes. It was right in the middle of it all, not to mention the mighty Nile River- super highway of the ancient world. Edited for typos!

Such nonsense. Not at the library! You don't see those in or around libraries today either. Libraries are usually in the noblest parts of town, and such was the case with the Library of Alexandria as well. Did you not see the sumptuous outside? And as for scholars and students, there were few women students and scholars at the time, even in forward Alexandria; aside from one of the most prominent of all classical scholars that is -- Hypatia who lectured there, and whose father Theon was the founder of the Museum!
