Take a walking tour of Downtown Concord New Hampshire on a beautiful summer afternoon. Enjoy the sights and sounds of the North end of Main Street as people dine at sidewalk restaurants or as they walk along the sidewalks with you. See the impressive red brick buildings, all the independent businesses, the residents of Concord and the incredible State Capitol Building. Unlike many Capitols, Concord reflects the casual, laid-back style New Hampshire is famous for throughout New England and around the nation. It is truly the Peoples' House and the front lawn is a popular destination for people relaxing and enjoying a sunny afternoon, yoga on Saturday mornings and the Farmer's Market just steps from the lawn on Capitol Street at the corner of Main Street. We are also known for locals petitioning our elected Representatives so there are often many groups peacefully expressing their views and adding a sense of true social conscience to Downtown Concord. In this video, we travel from Centre Street at the North end all the way to the North/South border at Pleasant Street. Further South, there are more cool buildings and vibrant businesses, restaurants and the ever-popular Concord Co-op. We will do a future video to show the rest of Main Street. There are some wonderful businesses on Downtown's side streets such as the Granite State Candy Shoppe, an iconic local institution since 1927. One of the best parts of living in Concord is enjoying the rich diversity of restaurants and shops, nearly all locally-owned, indy small businesses. One of the best things about living in New Hampshire is our outdoor sports and sightseeing. Concord residents are only 20 minutes away from skiing at Pat's Peak in Henniker, NH. Hiking trails are plentiful as are state parks. The Atlantic ocean is a little over an hour away. Beautiful Lake Winnipesaukee is a short drive away as well. If the New Hampshire lifestyle is calling and you are ready to escape large city living, we should talk. If you are considering moving to Concord, NH (or elsewhere in NH), call Dave Kinkade to begin the conversation and learn more about this incredible city and state. Contact details below. I believe you are speaking of Concord, Massachusetts, which is wonderful. It is a different place from Concord, New Hampshire (the topic of this video). The two places are about ~63 miles away from each other.

Hey John, sorry I missed your comment. TOTALLY can relate to your frustration with difficult places to live. NH is wide open. The further North you travel, (*typically*) the prices become lower and the crowds become more sparse. Do you want to live in a village with mountain views or in a larger town/city with amenities? I think you'll love the change in attitude here vs. NY. We are very respectful of the individual and the no sales tax and income tax sure is nice as well. If you can tell me what sounds good, I can give you some good recommendations tailored to your goals. Cheers!

@@johnbarasch1917 You have so many good choices here. NH is a great place to live. The 'Live Free or Die' ethos is pretty fiercely held (especially in the Central and Northern parts of the state). Are you looking for cheap-n-cheerful or something a bit more...upmarket? I've always been one for hills and mountains. My hometown is Henniker. It's tough to beat for proximity to civilization but still in a world of its own. Here's a little flyover I did: kzbin.info/www/bejne/jH2yqn-lf7imn9k Whether you are just dreaming or seriously looking to move, I'm glad to help however I can. NH is a small slice of paradise and reason, surrounded by...well... as a New Yorker, I think you know what I mean. LOL!

Is this video made during covid ? People don't seem to be uptight and not all wearing mask I can't belive it Im stuck in a place where everyone has a mask on cant leave home without it I moved to WA state 2 years ago and with this shut down its so tense and isolating people clutching their pearls here. Looks so nice for people to be out without tension. I need to live in a area commutable to Boston for Boston pay and then leave the crazy city stuff there and go home. Any ideas or recommendations let me know . It looks just peaceful if this was filmed during covid people relaxed . Nice video I was daydreaming watching this .

Hi Michelle, you just made my day! Yes, this was filmed in August 2020. People in New Hampshire are generally very respectful of one another's individual choices. Mask-wearing has been a hot topic inside some stores but outside, few people wear them. If you don't want to wear a mask, many businesses are okay with it as long as you are cool and you remain a respectable distance away from other people. I think you would probably LOVE it here. It's a special place and the people are actually quite friendly to newcomers. If you like small-town living, this place is ideal. If you are thinking you want something more suburban, I'd recommend checking out Nashua (I will be doing a Nashua video in the next two weeks or so). Concord is 90 minutes to Boston. There are so many great small and medium-sized towns to choose from, too. Text me if you like and I can help out with some more specific recommendations once you give me some idea of what is important to you. My number is 603 995-1545. I'm always glad to help out and point you in the right direction. Cheers! - Dave

I'd love to see your source because Concord is not even close. It is a city so there is some crime but not much and certainly nothing close to most other parts of the U.S. It is peaceful and people know how to behave themselves in and around Concord. Try other cities/states and you'll be doing cartwheels of joy down the center of Main Street in Concord.

No, there are def bigger hot spots for outward crimes (assault, robbery) like Manchester, or Nashua and drug crime like Laconia and Manchester
