thank you for posting this video. I get depressed at times especially in the winter when I am stuck indoors too much. I don't get enough sunlight, fresh air outdoor activities/walking. The thing is I also have traveled a LOT and lived in a few different countries. What I don't get when some people (including some psychologists) that minimize the effect of your environment on overwell emotional wellness/happiness. I realize that some people can be depressed no matter where they live/travel (Anthony Bourdain is a classic example of this, RIP to him). and some people are less affected by external environment. I am neither of those types, I am really effected by my environment (including loud noise at home or work), so I am lucky I live in a house in a quiet/safe area. But there are other places I have visited that I know for sure I would be even happier (including interacting more with people, where I live people aren't very friendly including workers at restaurants/coffee shops). When I travel to different areas (even in my country or some other countries, the people are generally much more friendly and will interact more in conversations, etc.) There are some places I visited I didn't care for (either I didn't care for the people either too loud, the weather, too much noise/too crowded, and I know I wouldn't like living there.

Hi John 👋🏻 🤗 Thank you so much for sharing your story, we can totally relate to this, as our experiences before starting this channel were and are so very similar. Charlie suffers with permanent chronic pain and along with that has severe bouts of depression. Winter is particularly bad, the cold effects his pain levels and the lack of sunlight affects mood negatively. During and after covid lockdown was a particularly tough time. So bad in fact that we had to make some huge lifestyle changes, but positively, it pushed us to use our skills to create these beautiful bright, sunny, warm uplifting videos. Our new lifestyle is helping us so much, in our work, in our relationships and with our mental health. We are only at the beginning, but every day now brings something different, new people, a new place and we get a lift from being immersed in these videos while we are editing too. We too try to avoid places when they are too busy, it makes us feel really uncomfortable. Sometimes it just gets “too PEOPLEY out there” 😉 Your comment and the story that you have shared is essentially our WHY. So we can help others who are in a situation where they might feel depressed, trapped, stuck or lonely. A trip out for a walk somewhere beautiful even virtually can really help to brighten their day. If we can lift others up so they might be able to achieve a little more for themselves and feel just a tiny bit lighter, then that’s a perfect day for us too.
