Naggar Village - Hidden and Most Beautiful Tourist Places to Visit in Manali.

Nagar is one of the most beautiful places to visit around Manali. Nagar has also been an important part of Himachal history as it was once the capital of Kulu empire and now this Naga castle has been turned into heritage hotel and plus the village also have beautiful temples that can be wasted by tourist so if you’re planning a trip to Manali then Nagar should always be on you wish list

When I was about 1-2 years toddler in early 1950s, my father was posted at Naggar in a government dispensary somewhere in the area below the castle. We used to collect morel mushrooms from nearby jungle. It was a very quite and quaint place then. I revisited the area sometime during early 1980s when we visited the castle as well as Roerich Gallery.

I came from Moscow to visit the Roerich memorial house in Naggar. I settled nearby in a private sector. We lived there for a month and another week in October and November already with a stove. We made friends with a local electrician who was born in Calcutta. He warned us to visit one large village in the mountains. I thought that the inhabitants attacked the hipsters during a night party. Then my companion and I were invited to agnihotra (as a poet from Russia) in the Roerichs' courtyard. I went into a trance and saw two ethereal Nagas. puja.2015.

Just returned from Kulu, Manali, Mani Karan Sahib, entire trip from Chandigarh to Manali and bit beyond it simply chaotic, Zero traffic management, littered with Garbage, pot holes ridden roads, notoriously corrupt Himachal Police, probably worst people I ever met in my life, It sucks, nothing to be proud off, worst food and crooked accommodation owners you name it, what kind of Medal you put around your neck least matters. I will never go beyond Anandpur Sahib in my life.
