Walks with Harvey - Mourne Mountains, Donard in the snow.

In this video, filmed Feb 24, Harvey plan to do the black stairs route up Donard but the weather has other ideas.

Great walk there Bob even with the change of route. Lovely bit of snow on the summits.

I find it's easier even in the summer to go through the forest on the other side of the river. Cross the bridge on the access road just before the trail and almost immediately on the right (assuming you are coming from the Donald car park) there's a trail/track heading in to the forest. You exit the forest just above the ice house. There's still a stream to cross that can be a challenge after a lot of rain but it's still easier and safer than the river.

Cheers, the further I went up I was thinking there must have been an easier way across further down.
