The bin system of keeping track of stock is really ingenious. From the stand point of needing something...you know just where to look. No digging.......leave the digging for the gardeners.

Wow! That shop is a dream. I really need one of those aircraft carrier desks!. I was wondering if, you acquired most of your lathes and mills used? I've priced out some machines that I need, only to back off due to the price and shipping. BTW stumbled onto your channel while researching the Ironworker !

Yes most of the machines we have were found used. I find it allot of fun to look for a great deal on the used market. Not to say I have never been burned but the wins far outweigh the losses. New equipment is great if you are confident you have tons of work for it.

Great video. Are you guys a job shop or do you produce abs sell products, or both. How long did it take to get this shop set up. I.e. how long you been in that shop.

Thank you! Prototype and small production shop as well as sculpture and short production of our own products here and there. We have been at the current space about 3 years but the collection of tools and machines started back about 2001.

Do you work alone or with others in the shop ? and what's your usual process for planning when you get a job ?

Often alone but have a group of friends that help out when I over book projects.

Maybe we will do a video on project planning but that is a big subject that is hard to summarize. Most of our work is rush so being as prepared for anything at any time is where we shine.

@@TigermothRacingTV I think you have a passion for industrial equipment as I do. I have found it can be easier to acquire projects than complete them in a timely manner. Sometimes working on machines is more fun that doing work with machines, which can get boring. I feel lucky with the deals I've gotten. Looks like you've gotten some great ones as well. Would love to see more vids from this channel!
