They hired a very lazy gardener who just put up clipart of plants on holographic displays, not even fake plastic replicas :P If I recall correctly, earth had no more plants by the time the ship left because of the pollution, potentially for decades already. So there wouldn't be any plants to initially populate the ship with, it very well may have left with those displays already installed. None of the inhabitants of the Axiom will have ever seen a real plant in their life.

When it comes to space ships. Its easy to forget this thing is extremely massive. But equally its unique that unlike in other syfy the axiom was made as a intentional space liner that was self sufficient and had capacity to sustain possibly 20 times its starting population. Much like how control vaults from fallout had space for 3000-4000 people but usually only took in 2000 as it was expected to last 50 years. Bonus is the large open spaces would normally be daft in a space ship where combat means being more space efficient, but as this ship has almost zero combat capability it doesn't matter since it isn't needed. I think vault tec shoulda took some ques from BnL.
@ivan.gryazin4 ай бұрын
Both companies share many traits except Vault Tec was intentionally evil for the sake of being so, and BnL turned out to be evil simply because the nature of the things they were doing was harmful. Both companies were engaged in large-scale production of a wide range of consumer goods, heavily involving themselves with the government. So much so, that Vault Tec essentially acted like one of the branches of the government and BnL simply replaced all ruling structures in all nations of the world, becoming the sole world power. Both organizations claimed they wish to temporarily resettle a wide populace either underground or to space for their protection without actually intending to do so. The major difference here is that BnL actually DID want to save people but they did not want them to ever return to Earth, whilst Vault Tec didn’t care about anyone but themselves at all. Also, both organizations disappeared shortly after their goal of population relocation was completed, and both had no foreshadow they would actually follow that path, hoping to re-establish their position shortly after a particular cataclysm takes place. They’re basically two sides of the same coin Funnily enough, I first learned about Fallout in 2008, the same year WALL-E was released, and I quickly became a huge fan of that cartoon. So, when I found out about Fallout, the first thing I compared Vault Tec to was actually Buy n Large 😂

Each of the captains have commanded the ship for over a century. 123, 131, 140, 124, and 128 years respectively. It's fascinating to see the selective use of detail. The sets are incredibly detailed by any standard, let alone for 2008, but you can see how they didn't bother with areas that wouldn't ever be close to the camera and maybe not even on-screen -- low-poly circles, flat shading, low-resolution textures, shader-only texturing, etc. It's a testament to the skill of the animators that they could make everything look this good but still knew when to optimize.
