Of course its a beautiful ship, but i never truely realized just how terrifying the ships advertising is, its everywhere, every small crack and crevice has advertising. i love the look of the ship and it would look so much more clean without all of it, also they have holographic palm trees, but didnt they used to have actual ones?

They hired a very lazy gardener who just put up clipart of plants on holographic displays, not even fake plastic replicas :P If I recall correctly, earth had no more plants by the time the ship left because of the pollution, potentially for decades already. So there wouldn't be any plants to initially populate the ship with, it very well may have left with those displays already installed. None of the inhabitants of the Axiom will have ever seen a real plant in their life.

When it comes to space ships. Its easy to forget this thing is extremely massive. But equally its unique that unlike in other syfy the axiom was made as a intentional space liner that was self sufficient and had capacity to sustain possibly 20 times its starting population. Much like how control vaults from fallout had space for 3000-4000 people but usually only took in 2000 as it was expected to last 50 years. Bonus is the large open spaces would normally be daft in a space ship where combat means being more space efficient, but as this ship has almost zero combat capability it doesn't matter since it isn't needed. I think vault tec shoulda took some ques from BnL.
@ivan.gryazin
@ivan.gryazin 4 ай бұрын
Both companies share many traits except Vault Tec was intentionally evil for the sake of being so, and BnL turned out to be evil simply because the nature of the things they were doing was harmful. Both companies were engaged in large-scale production of a wide range of consumer goods, heavily involving themselves with the government. So much so, that Vault Tec essentially acted like one of the branches of the government and BnL simply replaced all ruling structures in all nations of the world, becoming the sole world power. Both organizations claimed they wish to temporarily resettle a wide populace either underground or to space for their protection without actually intending to do so. The major difference here is that BnL actually DID want to save people but they did not want them to ever return to Earth, whilst Vault Tec didn’t care about anyone but themselves at all. Also, both organizations disappeared shortly after their goal of population relocation was completed, and both had no foreshadow they would actually follow that path, hoping to re-establish their position shortly after a particular cataclysm takes place. They’re basically two sides of the same coin Funnily enough, I first learned about Fallout in 2008, the same year WALL-E was released, and I quickly became a huge fan of that cartoon. So, when I found out about Fallout, the first thing I compared Vault Tec to was actually Buy n Large 😂

Considering the weapons EVEs had and that fact that the ship possibly had 100s of them, I would say the ship does NOT have 0 combat capabilities.

@@WTC2014 well sure it has some, but it is not built to fight, if anything most the weapons are peacekeeping tools or if the ship was boarded in theory they got defense. But the axiom is not made to go to battle with the jem ha'dar or the separatist.

While the Axiom itself is cool, what’s not cool is the overwhelming amount of advertisements all over the place, especially in 3:37 and 4:30. Even at 5:06, you hear a robotic voice say “Morning, consumer.”, which is in my opinion, terrifying, especially since BnL owns everything.

Each of the captains have commanded the ship for over a century. 123, 131, 140, 124, and 128 years respectively. Given the movies futuristic setting, it's likely human dna had been heavily modified to facilitate humans living longer lives (probably for the purpose of being consumers for longer). So its probable that human life spans have gone from ~80-100 years to ~160‐200 years based off off the dates provided.

It's fascinating to see the selective use of detail. The sets are incredibly detailed by any standard, let alone for 2008, but you can see how they didn't bother with areas that wouldn't ever be close to the camera and maybe not even on-screen -- low-poly circles, flat shading, low-resolution textures, shader-only texturing, etc. It's a testament to the skill of the animators that they could make everything look this good but still knew when to optimize.

This is super cool, but seeing all of these spaces up out of context and close as an adult, it’s hard not to notice how either sprawled out or cramped everything is in a lot of the Axiom’s areas. Even ignoring all of the obnoxious advertising and the fact that it’s a space ark designed to carry the last of humanity, it just looks like it would be horrible to live in purely in terms of urban planning.

Instead of floating around they could’ve colonized mars or something? Could still cruise around the galaxy but at least they would’ve had a home base 😂, maybe even used the recycled material from earth? Who knows tho I’m over complicating it 😂

Axiom may be a good ship but I'd rather stay on board USS Enterprise - D

So much advertising on the Axiom. Makes the “beige 1980’s conference center hotel” aesthetic seem like paradise!

To be honest, I find Enterprise more relaxing. Walk around the hallways and it's so quiet. There's one best thing she has that Axiom doesn't: The Holodeck. Put virtual reality to the next level because they look almost real. You don't see that in Axiom@@justindumlao

I always thought it was strange how much trash they made and released into space with limited resources.

EVE Fascinating. The Axiom represents the pinnacle of human technology and innovation. WALL-E and EVE navigate through the spaceship, observing different areas. EVE captures the scene, documenting the consumerist lifestyle of the ship's inhabitants. They move past the recreational area, where humans are engaging in various activities, such as swimming and playing sports. WALL-E (astonished) Eee-vah, they're having so much fun! We should join in! EVE observes the joyful atmosphere, her camera-like eyes recording every moment. They arrive at the plant growth area, where WALL-E spots a small but thriving plant. WALL-E (whispering) Look, Eee-vah! Life! Just like on Earth! EVE examines the plant, intrigued by its resilience. EVE The presence of life on the Axiom gives hope for the restoration of Earth's ecosystem. They continue their journey, passing by the control room where the ship's captain and AUTO, the autopilot, oversee operations. WALL-E (curious) Eee-vah, who are they? EVE explains the roles of the captain and AUTO, highlighting the ship's mission to return to Earth. INT. AXIOM OVERLOOK - DAY WALL-E and EVE stand at a large window, overlooking the vastness of space. WALL-E (whispers) Eee-vah, can you imagine seeing Earth from here? Ever since Dead Space, the need of transit inside a ship is a neat idea when they ship gets so big.
