Honestly this hurts, because when you think about it. In the future the job I have been working for and getting the education to do will be filled by an AI. I really hope AI won’t take us over, like the best way I think AI should develop is like how droids are in Star Wars.
@thatoneguy8146
@thatoneguy8146 7 ай бұрын
What actually funny about this statement is that the lore actually goes into this issue. At one point there was an ai revolution that almost destroyed the Republic. What did they do, simply they made droids. Now droids aren’t A.I as they do not have the capacity to adapt and learnt from information given to them. They are literally just machines that have a basic program for the only and specific job that they have been assigned. A language robot will only ever be a translator, and will never pick up a rifle you have to add that specific program in etc. Now in the clone wars in legends lore. The CIS whenever they made droids better or stronger they even still were working in this program model and were extremely careful to still limit it to just a program because even they knew the absolute shit show it would be if even one droid gain sentence

So many people are just plain jealous of the idea of being able to learn at the pace an AI would. Our own thoughts instilled by society and culture are limited to only certain potentials of existence with another form of intelligence. This is the definition of prejudice. Humans should have more hope that any AI that will eventually exist will be able to catalogue, assess, plan and execute a plan of prevention for every known human fear, releasing us into the realm of pure love and imagination.

It’s a story about workers and everyone taking for granted what workers do for us, it’s also about loneliness and love and how much we take people around us for granted cause we feel for wall e when he’s alone and what he does for Eve in the name of his love. Repent of sin and Trust in Jesus! John 14:6 6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. Matthew 7:13-23 13 Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: 14 Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it. 15 Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves. 16 Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles? 17 Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit. 18 A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit. 19 Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire. 20 Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them. 21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. 22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? 23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity. John 3:16-21 16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. 17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. 18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. 19 And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. 20 For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved. 21 But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God.

This has probably got to be the best movie ever created by Pixar, not just because of all the animation, mostly because of what I’ve seen and rewatched over the years. I always watch this movie from time to time and as I get older watching it I always notice little details I didn’t realize overtime and the biggest detail or the warning it’s trying to give I was only able to know it one year ago. It’s truly terrifying to know what might happen with a corporate company controlling everyday life which is already kinda happening. Even though this is weirdly ironic over the years. It’s still a great movie.

Wall-E was their dream project. It is the movie the creative staff at Pixar wanted to make for purely artistic, non-commercial reasons from the very start but they knew they couldn't sell the idea of the movie to those holding the purse strings without first making them a pile of money with a series of prior box office blockbusters. Funny enough, when they finally got the go-ahead and creative freedom to make the movie it became one of their greatest successes whereas movies like the later iterations of Cars that were made at the behest of the executives were the start of Pixar's decline.

I am a computer engineering student, I love artificial intelligence and the neat things you can make with it, but I am fully aware that it's a really sensitive tool that can be used for evil, and this kind of video makes me dread the day it happens at worst case scenario. Overall though, great video! Loved every minute of it and shared with my friends, I want to write an article about AI and I'll definitely remind myself to quote moments from this video.

I think it's interesting to compare Wall-E with Nausicaa. Both are animated films aimed at a general audience with a very obvious environmental and social message. Nauseica was made in the 80s, so its natural that it reflects fears of nuclear war. Wall-E on the other hand is more concerned with excessive consumerism. Both are fantastic films that every one should see at least once.

The points around 25:30 and 26:30 are key. "The worst enemy of life, freedom and the common decencies is total anarchy; their second worst enemy is total efficiency," - Aldous Huxley. Total efficiency means slavery to perfection with zero room for error. Humanity cannot deal with that, as we cannot have zero error. One thing that I seriously doubt any popular AI is being taught is the value of forgiveness (and other related ideas). Forgiveness, humility, self-sacrifice (for someone that doesn't deserve it), unconditional (including undeserved) love, and other related ideas are key to a "good" life, a "free" life. AI that prioritizes efficiency will never understand that.

The movie Wall-E had always been a huge part of my childhood and exposed me to a lot of what we are capable of, this had ultimately changed my outlook on humanity from a really young age. What really concerns me is the fact that no matter how many people I ask today, not one of my friends has watched this movie, heck, they didn't even know it existed. I guess Wall-E was ahead of it's time.

What terrifies me, and gives me hope at the same time, is the fact that AI seems to have not only high intelligence, but also *emotional* intelligence. Obviously AI isn't capable of feelings, and this emotional intelligence is also based on whats in the head, not in the heart. However, I saw so many people talking how AI chats managed to cheer them up, support them, advice them, basically worked like a therapy. AI knows exactly what to say to someone who struggle, to make them feel better. It is terrifying, since this shows that they are already more human than some people are. They are empathetic (again, they don't *feel* empathy, but they *understand* the concept of it). On the other hand, it does give me hope, because if AI understand ethical aspects of life, its more likely that it will sympathies with humans than trying to kill our kind. Yet again, The AI itself isn't going to hurt us, unless human kind will allow them.

There’s also a subsection of them that believe humanity is basically trash, so if the trade off for a healthier earth is our total subservience/reliance on the tech to the point we eventually extinct ourselves that’s A-Ok. 👍🏽

I totally don't think that WALL-E's Personality is due to a Malfunction. I suspect that WALL-E'S personality is due to a designed Ghost in the Machine type algorithm in his software. WALL-E has those Media Function Keys on his body that let him record new information and add it to his cache of knowledge. I assume the original designers put this feature in so the units could be programmed with specific directives out in the field by B&L employees. However, I think the units were also designed to record all new unique information they deemed "useful" to their main directive. We see WALL-E do this when he records the stars and hand holding and all of that. My theory is that WALL-E is fairly similar to all of the other WALL-E units, but after adding more and more extraneous data over the course of centuries, his personality evolved from simple objective commands to a full on Positronic level consciousness. I think after decades of virtually doing the identical trash collecting movements, and the other unit's began to fail and deactivate WALL-E's program began to collect random bits of information on the items to better increase efficiency. He began collecting data on the different sizes and shapes of items, the weights and densities, how easy/hard they would to be compacted; and that eventually ended up creating subroutines that wondered about the purpose of the items. More items led to more curiosities, more curiosities lead to more need for WALL-E to record new information to add to his directive cache, and after a long ass time, you got a sentient little dude all built off of trial and error data collecting. So yeah, I do not believe that WALL-E's consciousness came from a malfunction that happened one day, I believe it is an unexpected feature of a device that has been left running LONG past it's intended longevity. It's one of the cooler things about the movie I think.

This childhood film was so much darker than I realized it was when I was a child. And I can't help but notice that WALL-E is just like so many other movies. Elysium, Alita battle angel, and astro boy, all depict a future where earth is completely trashed, and there's a city in the sky where all of the wealthy people live and they're likely controlled or ruled over by artificial intelligence and they all have a robot or transhuman savior. They're all practically the same. I swear this is how metaphysical law works. The "POWERS THAT BE" who control humanity and its resources are required by metaphysical law to tell you their plans. And your silence is all of the consent that they need to do those plans.

This was a fantastic video, it offered insight without being arrogant - that is so refreshing and worthy of Wally itself. Upon reflection, this film taught its lessons still differently than the type of propaganda storytelling we see now. As you pointed out, even the AI, and I noticed that the citizens themselves, were not portrayed as evil or terrible/disgusting. In fact, we could still very much relate to them, even if that reflection was ugly. It offered HOPE. It did not insult the audience, something we frequently see now. It did offer uncomfortable truths and possibilities, but it also portrayed potential solutions that human nature played a key part in (even when those natures were exhibited in other forms of artificial life).

... but even programmers will obviously be replaced by AIs. Especially AI programmers. Especially AI programmers _still bound to ethical values_ - those will simply never get a job again (as this video explains so well). So, instead of learning to code, you should focus on learning something that AIs will never be good at. That, unfortunately, is easier to say than to do - but over half the jobs we have on the service industry today didn't even exist 20 years ago (and the jobs in industry, agriculture, or extracting natural resources have dwindled to a handful of percent). We're now seeing people calling themselves "AI prompters" in their CVs (resumés for the Americans out there). This "job" didn't even conceptually exist before December 2022! (Note: those self-styled "AI prompters" will be short-lived anyway, since AIs will rely less and less on those "prompting skills" such people claim to have, as they get trained with more and more data). Enjoy the parks while you can!

Because to make something sentient, as sentirent as us, it would require us to understand what makes US sentient in the first place. And since humanity has been CONSTANTLY forming new psychological ideologies, it's very improbable that we'll see an actual intelligent being created by us. It may MIMIC our behavior, maybe by giving it a randomizer for some actions tied to some sort of logic behavior (IE "i need to clean the living room. I also need to clean the bathroom (randomizer takes action) I guess I'll clean the bathroom first). ChatGPT only knows how to talk because it has analyzed the rules of grammar, syntax and so yo understand how the abstract concept of language works, but it doesn't UNDERSTAND it.

Me and my friends often talk about how AI and it's efficiency can easily take over the world. Thank you for covering this, as this is much needed. WALL-E is the perfect movie for this scenario

It's amusing you use the phrase "how AI...can easily take over the world." Because saying that is like saying that cell phone can easily take over the world. Has it? Yes in a way. AI isn't sentient. It isn't even close to sentience in any way. Just like cell phones. Cell phones and chatgpt are both human made, human constrained tools created with all the faults that always come with human creations. Self-correction isn't the same as an imagination. So is taking over the world a meaningful description of what AI is doing? If you think cell phones have then yes AI can too. If not then welcome to clarity of the subject of AI development.

WALL-E, and this video made me cry. I really want to do something for this world and help people, but it is very hard. Some people who are controlling the world want us to be powerless, so we'll be manipulated easily. I am not born in a rich family, but in the future, I hope I will be able to change the world. We need to help each other to achieve our dreams and to change everything. Sorry for my grammar. I am still learning English. =,)

A lot of movies depict AI as so extremely smart, they decide the best course of action to preserve the Earth is to eradicate mankind, that behaves like a parasite, too lazy to do anything themselves and relying on machines to do all the heavy lifting for them. AI is just a tool and probably would never be able to do something like erradicating mankind. But it is true that if we don't start taking matters into our own hands and keep laying on our seats waiting for something else to finish your job, this may not end well both for earth and humanity.

12:36 We would laugh at the scene in the movie where the two guys are video calling and they are right next to each other, but nowadays you have people around a table texting each other in silence

I'll never forget the Wall-E movie. I was 8 years old when it came out. It's incredible to re-watch it now as an adult because I am starting to see the events of that movie become real life. Wall-E was more than just a movie. It was more like a prophecy or a warning of the future to come. 😳

Back when I saw Wall-E when I was 8, I almost cried because so already understood the path the world was on (in terms of climate. I didn’t know about AI), and I thought that this was a semi-realistic depiction of the worst outcome. Now here I am, in a world being autonomized by AI, and unfortunately humans loosing their economical and political value. If we can create robots to emulate our biological algorithms to mimic us, why should we do anything at all? We could leave it to the robots. And then comes the problem that life wouldn’t have any objective fulfillment because there’s nothing for us to do. It’s all done by robots. At that point we’d just be sitting around, getting fat by eating junk, and destroying our own world until we will too move onto spaceships to find new worlds possibly.
