How do I avoid that the wall hanging gets longer than in the pattern? Like when I want to do a circle, it will look like an ellipse.

thank you for this video but i have a question. What do you do if you have a odd number of strings?
@knotliketheothers4 жыл бұрын
what I do if I have an odd number of strings, is I just eliminate one of the columns to make it an even number! This is what I do in my Pikachu wall hanging video if you want to hear me explain it a little further! kzbin.info/www/bejne/aF6Ue5iYj7qHbqM Let me know if you have any other questions

How did you cut off the long ends of the stick once the wall hanging was done? I noticed that the dowel was smaller and I wanted to know if there is a special way that you cut it off?
@hellohuman-ihope11 ай бұрын
So i just snapped it in half with my hands. It split tho so i just glued it together then sanded the edges but with a nail filer then painted the whole thing... obviously this isnt the correct way to do it tho so if anyone knows a better way please let us know:)

how did you keep the rows straight when doing it? I've done a few and my rows for some reason shift
@knotliketheothers4 жыл бұрын
It takes a little while to get the hang of not pulling your knots too tight or too loose - I always make sure to push all my knots into straight lines after every row or so :)
@jordynferry5154 жыл бұрын
@@knotliketheothers do you use anything to push them with?

You might want to try looking at Masha Knot's straight alpha video. Basically on the left end do backward-forward knots and the right end forward-backward.

Are your base strings a different thickness than your other strings? also this is beautiful
@knotliketheothers4 жыл бұрын
Thank you so much! For this piece, I used pearl cotton size 5 for the whole thing. However, lately I've only been using pearl cotton for my base strings and then using emroidery floss to create my pattern.
