Kinda reminds me of an old Miniclip game called Motherlode, but you’re digging down and have to return to the surface for oxygen. The deeper you get, the more expensive and more numerous minerals. The more minerals, the more upgrades > longer trips. And the deeper you get, the… weirder.. things get.

Damn it AA, ya made me dig up my philosophize comment: Philosophize is the verb form of philosophy. -ize is from the denominalization suffix from ancient greek [philos-sophia-izo]. Philosophied uses the germanic verb declination on the noun philosophy, philosophized uses the germanic verb declination on the verb philosophize. (Also philosophize has been the prominent usage for at least 400 years, potentially always, so at this point even prescriptively it's the word of choice.)

I'm sorry AA but true roguelikes have zero run to run progression. Rogue Legacy is not a true to form roguelike.

That's why we have the genre "Rogue-lite". Rogue Legacy and others of that type are Rogue-lite, not -like. They let you carry some progression across to future runs. Rogue-likes have zero progression carry-over. Thus your first game will be much like your last in terms of power etc.
