I love the carved picture frames, the brown floral wallpaper, the frilly cloth lampshade and old wood grain tube tv. Things all not seen in modern homes in at least 20 years but gives those old nostalgic feelings. Perfect.

I absolutely love Wallace & Gromit, with many limited edition collectibles adorning my display cases. They're just good, clean fun that always puts a smile on my face. I was lucky enough to visit the museum in Bristol and see some of Aardman's creations, including The Pie Machine from Chicken Run, before the unfortunate warehouse fire that destroyed many sets. The voice chosen to replace Peter Sallis is as close as one could hope for, and hats off to the team. Thank you for this compilation.

Great video Adam! These are a smashing trio of idents and I immediately felt a pang of warmth and nostalgia watching them. Love that Feathers McGraw is featured across all three in either a big or small way. A Christmas tree decoration & Christmas card in the living room ident, a shadow in the window on the tree ident and then the ice sculpture Norbot makes.

I've only just noticed Feathers McGraw in the window in the 2nd ident, I think. I don't know why but, although these are sweet, I feel theres a certain sinister atmosphere with them, especially with the ident of the empty living room. It's probably just my nerves being silly. I do love the idents though.

It's such an exciting time when Wallace & Gromit idents pop-up........ especially since it's only happened twice in my life.......... Including now.

3 goes with W&G, 1 with Shaun and the last Christmas with the BBC1 Balloon in 2001. As I said to another creator, I think Aardman owns the festive season, now. Ice Sculpture brings to mind the BBC2 ident from '95 with it's looping, and in a weird way the BBC turntables of old, like one of the 2019 set also did. The best is the living room one, it is so cosy, and the melody is charming. The news version - which you sneaked in at the end, Adam, cheeky! - gives me closedown vibes, as if the boys have just gone to bed. And as a self-proclaimed Wallace and Gromit superfan - if you used to collect the encyclopedia partwork Techno Quest in the 90s and its floppy disk games, then you're a superfan, too - there's a tearjerking Easter Egg in The Big Light Up and Ice Sculpture. Ben Whitehead's voicing is mixed with archive "Ha Ha!"s from Peter Sallis. Nostalgia all over, here. I've been waiting for this Christmas since this movie was announced, as the boys starring in this year's idents was inevitable. And they did not disappoint. BBC1 won the ident battle of 2024, in 2023, basically. Cracking Christmas, Gromit!

In the second ident you didn't mention that Feathers McGraw is lurking in the upstairs window. While the mechanical tree might seem disappointing a fourth character walks into frame and the neighbors have varying reactions. Do you get the idea that Aardman enjoys making these?

It only feels like yesterday when Wallace and Gromit made their BBC ident debut on the BBC 2 Christmas ⛄ indent way back 🔙 in 1995. They were good then and almost 30 years later they r still great. 👍

My favourite was the Doctor Who ones christmas 2009 thiugh after his final episide (at the time!) aired the melencholy of him vanishing slapped me hard ahead of the gavin and stacey final ... I was emotional at the time too because my sad recently passed away just before new years eve 2009 and as escapism of course i watch my hero regenerate jaha! Smith though gave hipe for the future ....but yeah those Tennant idents were iconic. I loved the 2017 stop motion ones with the dabcer and 2015 with Capaldi narrating the sprout was so fun .....and these feel like a glorious nostakgic addition with wallace and gromit back ....whilst i look forward to dr who, gavin and stacy.....wallace and gromit is so exciting 🎄

10 out of 10 for bbc 1s xmas idents, Ive noticed a few other channels are reusing previous idents, ITV 1 has the guy drragging the xmas tree along a train station platform, bbc 2 has the tree shaking the snow off, channel 5 have got the festive pics along the edge of the 5. One of my favourite festive idents is def bbc ones wizard ident from 1990. Ive watched it a few times already this month.
