Abandoned Save A Lot & Dollar General - Lancaster, TX. This may be a shorter video but hopefully you're able to enjoy our little walk around these old places in the same shopping center. We were happy to get to meet with our friend, Connie, who was able to tell us the details of these long gone stores.

Speaking of discount food markets, who else remembers walking into a Bottom Dollar Food before the entire company closed its doors for good in 2015? The one I visited was in Bridgeville, Pennsylvania (a suburb of Pittsburgh).

Empty white store was a cigarette smoke shop. Later sold vape and head supplies too. Laura Pena ran it after her husband passed away. Great place.

Wow. Lancaster is my hometown & I actually WORKED at that Winn-Dixie very briefly in the early '80s. I don't know anything about a Whataburger ever being on the corner there. It was a Del Taco in the '80s. Thanks for posting. :)

I went to Save A Lot a few times and over the years it kept getting less and less customers, last time I went there there was no one except for me and probably 2 employees. I also saw an abandoned Dollar General, it's demolished now...

Your KZbin Channel rocks, Wallie! We used to have an Eckerd drug store here in Weirton,WV. Wallie, if you recall, I had told you about the old KMart here in Weirton,WV has 2 businesses are Big Lots in one end and Aldi's in the other end. I had found out that both of these stores are opening up in the Fall 2021. I really miss shopping in KMart. Well, at least the old KMart building is being used to open up another business in and providing jobs for people, though in this case 2 businesses. Have a KMartlicious Day!

Actually here in Ny it was Genovese brought out by Eckerds which was then brought out by Rite Aid which then Walgreens opted out to buy half of Rite Aid stores! Whew.

Dollar General is moving to free standing new builds and getting away from shopping center leasing.

Save-A-Lot certainly reduced the size of the (Winn-Dixie) store by walling off the left side and made smaller stores out of it.

I am not going to lie I have never ever been into Save a lot I have did hear that is store and kinda like Kroger but I don't know what all they got and what not the closest save a lot I know of is in hills bro it is close to Wilmington and I do live pretty close to Wilmington and Me and my mom have by Save a Lot in hills bro but we have not got to go in there and that's where Kroger use to be but Kroger end up move not far from there so I need to check out save a lot sometime but I don't know if they are still there tho
