Alot of nostalgia seeing those older parts.. sad they all just went to waste. That large box at 4:43 may have been the entire side skin of an Express/Savana van.. when I had mine fixed, it came in a box about that size

21:30 I'm so impressed with your knowledge with car parts! Nothing like cars from the the 1950's or 1960's where you could tell a Dodge, from a Ford, from a Buick, from a Pontiac, and so on! It's like all have gone to that "Cookie-Cutter" shape, so you (pretty much) can't tell the difference! 😢 Makes me sad!

Awesome video. I had an opportunity to explore a small used car lot dealership. They recently just renovated it into another used car lot. But glad I had the chance to explore it when it was abandoned. Found some used car parts in the garage area.

Awesome video! It is not every day you get to explore an abandoned car dealership let alone find an abandoned one. I find that skeleton kinda funny! I agree with you on the Malibu vs Camry. We had a Malibu ,bought it brand new and the battery died 2 weeks later(no joke), we also had some major heater problems with it too. That is why I am a Ford Guy and hence why we have 2 Fords. They have not given us much problems except for maintenance. I am kinda curious about why you like GM? To me their cars and other automobiles are not that great compared to Ford.(I do know Ford has some junk cars too)
@CMNTMXR5722 күн бұрын
To answer your question... Just like you like ford, I like GM. Born and raised in them, with the exception of a few chryslers, all my vehicles have been GM. Then worked in a GM service department, so I learned GM, was tooled in GM, parts network. I Like their V8's, I like their trucks. I Like the parts interchangability even between platforms and engines. I've never had the issues you claim. A dead battery in your case Isn't a GM fault. It sounds like the shippers left the key in the ignition in the process of moving the vehicle from the factory, to trucks to trains, to trucks, to dealerships, etc... This effectively doesn't shut the vehicle off, therefore the electrical system is on and draining the battery. GM will even put notices on them to "TAKE KEY OUT OF IGNITION..." SOunds like someone didn't catch it during the PDI.
@AlexEigel22 күн бұрын
@@CMNTMXR57 Yeah, GM's are that bad, at least the older ones aren't I think the battery dying was just a bad battery, the Malibu was actually not a bad car though it had its issues just like any other cars, Me and my family just prefer Fords just because we have always had good luck with them, they seem to run forever too.
@CMNTMXR5722 күн бұрын
@AlexEigel I will disagree, but again, I turn a wrench on them for a living and today's complication, warranty repair and even planned obsolescence, keeps me employed. Much the same as it does my counterpart(s) at our neighboring ford dealers' service department... Obviously they're busy and keeping technicians employed too! There is a saying that "if it has 'Slang for female chest parts' or tires, it will give you problems..."
@AlexEigel22 күн бұрын
@@CMNTMXR57 Well yeah, I have heard about that and yeah I can see why Fords just aren't popular with car mechanics but hey I think Fords are better than any Dodge products that they make today, which yeah I Just feel everyone has there preferences, another reason we don't work heavily on our cars, we know the basics of of the engine and things like that, but I also have heard new GM's aren't to good either, I feel Honda or toyotas are the best as they usually don't need to go into the shop that often I don't think.

I like the older Chevy's and other GM cars a lot - I am thinking about getting an old Chevrolet Impala or possibly a Cavalier as my first car! I am also considering some cars like the Buick Lucerne and Pontiac Grand Prix as options too! It's a shame newer GM cars are not nearly as reliable as they once were - though they do look cool!
@matthewcaughey88987 ай бұрын
Old impalas are tragic rust buckets. The 01 to 12s especially, for some reason the rockers and understructure just dissolve. It’s why there’s so few on the road. Cavaliers are just as bad if not worse. The newest ones are almost 20 years old and unless you find a rare survivor you’re just not going to find one. Those you do find are essentially rotted away. Grand Prixs are pretty much dust in the wind too given they rotted away as bad as the impala. You might get lucky on the Buick, given the average age of a US Buick buyer was 69 years old
@davydigger7087 ай бұрын
@@matthewcaughey8898 I like the old Regals too! I have heard that - I was mostly interested in the 3800 engine (or the 2.2 for the Cavalier - both absolute tanks!) I was wondering if I could find one not rusted out if I look hard enough - I am in the south after all. I have seen a few...

20:45 Just put money in a Ziploc bag and mail it to the nearby Chevy dealership. So you're NOT stealing the bumper, but you're BUYING the buying it! I'd recommend googling the price of a USED bumper, since it's not really new (sitting for X-number of years), deppreciation value, before paying up! Again, you wouldn't be stealing if you paid for the part!

There's going to be more dealerships similar to this one in the future. This is awful to see but with the effects of the pandemic and economic issues. Abandoned work places are going to be something of a normal occurrence all over the country. But what really bothers me is the abandoned schools because of really low enrollments and higher drop out rates.
