I have heard several interpreters, and they all were good if not excellent, But! this performance/interpretation and the piano is the perfect combination expressing and transmitting the passion and feeling, as part of the Cuban character. The piano at times, and just as a touch or a hint of flavor, sounds and feels like echoes of the dance and contradance reminiscent of genuine Cuban music of XIX century. Marvelous and enchanting. Thank you!!!!

VERY GOOD rendition. Just some minor things. in the beginning the E shoud be a C im the voice line in sombrero, it's a misprint. Insurrecto is mispronounced and Cádiz Se adormecía too.

Beatiful voice, but the "tempo" is too much slow, in my opinion.

Thanks for your comment. The tempo marking in the score is Lento (very slow), which is 40-60 bpm. We stay exactly in that range, with a flexible tempo that reflects the frequent markings of Rubato that Montsalvatge uses to show which sections are more free, and speech-like. Which tempo do you prefer?
