This year I’ve decided to gift meaningful gifts. With the pandemic I’ve come to realize that kids don’t enjoy toys as much or for a long time. My girls loved just spending time with my husband and I . Another thing is that we as a society blow money on so many insignificant things to just have, then get rid of. So we decide to save even more for their future. We have had a saving for them since they were born so now we will save more and use our money wisely.

For anyone interested in buying the Paw Patrol dino patroller, we got it last year at Walmart for our 3 year old and the part that shoots broke the day after Christmas (very poorly designed) and the motorized part broke 2 weeks later. Also for the Imaginex large Batmobile, we tried 3 different times to buy it and pick up from the store but every time we got a new one it was already broken in the package (whatever inside that makes it move up and down). We gave up and figured a non broken one would just end up breaking the same way once the little guy started playing with it. Toys just aren't made to last anymore. :(

There is. But I think the big stores are set. And certain kind of toys will be more in demand. Think the bigger toys that take more labor to work the line like play kitchens. I think it’s funny they are approaching it different from the toilet paper and meat crisis. Instead of don’t hoard it’s coming they are saying the stock is low and buy early? I think things to do will be in demand more than big items. Why was there no toy shortage last year? That was when things locked down very tight.

I’m 49. I can’t believe how much money people will pay when they have no idea what on earth is inside the package. It’s a surprise? I’m glad they got rid of some of the plastic sides/fronts of the packaging for many toys. It was the part that often crushed anyway, hard to gift it then. Glad to see so much supply.

I'm doing my shopping online this Christmas, No More Going into Stores and Fighting the Crowds for me, I've got stuff for my Husband Graham, and our Four Children, I've got our 3-year-old son Barry Something for Christmas, our 5-year-old son Tyler for Christmas, 7-year-old son Adam for Christmas, our 9-year-old son Kyle for Christmas, I told Graham and the boy's what I want for Christmas, and they're going to get it for me, after Thanksgiving.
