I love this video idea! I hope that you’ll continue doing this series with Target and other retailers (Wayfair, etc) and other styles (modern, traditional). I learn so much about design from looking at the choices that you make.

Wow, this is the video that will get you up to 100K subs! Excellent!!! So happy you have commissioned links. I have purchased so many of your suggestions. Answer to your question: I grew up in a neighborhood with probably the most modest home among my friends. However, my mom had a knack and love for interior décor and our house was always pretty.

Love the use of green. I have had a similar green paint and window treatment in my bedroom for over 20 years, and I have never grown tired of it.

My childhood home was a cracker box. It was a cute little ranch that my parents kept well maintained and clean, but it was soooo small. An eat-in galley kitchen, no dining room, one small living room. My bedroom was right off of it and could only hold a twin size bed and one dresser. The other two bedrooms were mirror images of each other with a tiny bathroom in between - which the four of us shared. We were on top of each other and I felt so stifled, especially since winter kept us inside for basically 9 months. I loved being over my friends' homes which were all bigger. We all had the 70s avocado and gold decor which I didn't mind - just the lack of personal space. Needless to say, I have a large home now. Great question and a good way to get viewers to engage in the comments!

What an interesting video. Thank you!! Who knew Walmart had these lovely options at affordable prices. That is a win win in my books!! When I was growing up I don't remember ever wanting a different home. My dad came from humble beginnings, he worked very hard and he built the house we lived in. At the time some 60 years ago, everyone was pretty much in the same bracket financially and don't get me wrong, we had everything we needed but no one in our area was wealthy, it was an average neighborhood with working class people. As time passed and with promotions, my Dad did have a little more financial freedom. The only thing I do remember wanting to have or change, was my bedroom because one of my school friends had a beautiful bedroom with a canopy bed and I wanted one like that so much. Well, I never got it but I wouldn't have changed the care and love we received for anything. 😊

How beautiful …and maybe you can get a canopy bed now.

I never lived in any place longer than two years growing up. I longed for a permanent place. We traveled all over Europe and our Madrid apartment was wonderful with hard wood floors and a wrought iron balcony on the third floor. I envied my friends that had a ground level homes with an outdoor space. Today, I still envy my friends that have beautiful patios and gardens.

If you can’t afford coffee table books….using empty cigar boxes (they are real wood…not cardboard) are a creative, unique and out-of-the-norm. I love them and use them all over my home under plants, layered with vintage books….and more. They come in various shades of wood….and even black. Bonus, they can house things like remotes, keys, wallets, etc. They are usually $1 each at cigar stores! Cannot recommend them enough. You’ll find a million uses for them.

I absolutely loved my home growing up and would live there today if I could! It was an interior design fix up and would be again today to modernize it. But the ranch style lay out and separate sides of the house for my parents and me and my sister was great. It was just a great house. I don’t recall ever being overly impressed with our interior design but I didn’t hate it. My parents did a chair rail and wall paper in the living room. Wall paper is back! 😊

Lovely room. Reminds me of my redecorated bedroom. I had been wanting it green, " my favorite color is sage. I recently fell with low pulse/oxy level", due to phnemonia. "Miss spelled". My son painted my bedroom sage green, while I was in hospital with that and a broken hip. It was a wonderful surprise. ❤ I love my room! All trim is crisp white. I already had the drapes. I love it and I love him for doing this for me. God has blessed me with a wonderful son. I look forward to your next video. Tyfs HUGS 🙏🌼

I love this design! It would look perfect in our sunroom. Alas, my husband hates change and likes our current furniture. My mother was an excellent decorator and gardener. I was extremely happy with our home. It was beautiful and cozy. She has passed but influences my own design decisions.
@AllySa334 ай бұрын
Mine hates change as well! It's so stifling when your favorite creative outlet is interior decorating. When we built our house 16 years ago, he said do what you want, I don't care. But now he doesn't want to change a thing. It took me 5 years to convince him on changing the paint color! He always says; "There's nothing wrong with it the way it is." When I do change something and he likes it, he says "Why didn't you do that color in the first place?" He just doesn't understand flowing with the times. Ugh! I dream of a second home of my own to decorate the way I want.

Hi Suzanne, this video was awesome! Growing up, my mother used a lot of 70s green in her decor. I just did not like green and I feel the same way even today. There are some shades that are cooler that I do like, but the warm ones I run from! Lol 😆 She allowed me to have my favorite color, light blue, in my room with my French provincial furniture, and I did love that! I have my own home decor channel and I hope that you and your viewers/subscribers here will check it out. It’s a fairly new channel that combines my love of the old with the new. Thanks for all the inspiration!

More appealing (to me) than Pottery Barn's many florals this season. Green is a favorite color too...but still would prefer a lighter wall-paint shade with a little more contrast. And, lastly love the Brass accents but NOT the Dome shapes of lamps. While popular, I object to the downward-only light they emit. Nevertheless...thanks for assembling this lovely & economical room!

I hated my home growing up. It was very formal. The couches were hard, you had to use coasters on the coffee tables, the furniture lined the walls, there were no rugs. Dinner was always at a formal dining table with place settings and glassware etc. It wasn’t until they retired that my parents had lap trays. My friends had casual homes, and ate in kitchens and had soft couches with throws etc.
