Happy Friday Robin! Not too much of a cook myself, but I think you can use bacon grease as a replacement for butter. All I know is that it isn't too good in high heat cooking, but medium and low heat cooking it works fine.

Yeah i tried that grilled cheese tomato sandwich, with a bowl of potatoe soup the other night. It was good. Then had a scrambled egg tomato and cheese sandwich for supper another night.

When I make bacon , sometimes I heat up two corn tortillas and make tacos with it just the pieces of bacon and some salsa , and sometimes I even put a bit of refried beans with it. Or I make a BLT sandwich.

Walmart does not control the prices of the food. They are cutting back too hence the ‘do it yourself’. I liked my Mt. Dew but there is no way I will pay $10 for a 12 cans of soda. Also chips too. I like them, but unless I buy them at Sam’s or a small bag at the $1.25 store it is usually a no for me. Things will get better. Things are now affecting everyone. When people can’t afford to get basic necessities things change. Hopefully for the better and not more of the same promising “we are here to help”. Anywho, thanks for sharing. Great haul.

Big stores like WM. say the prices are going because of all the shoplifting. I worked there for 20yrs, and believe me working selfcheckout I saw alot of stealing. I think they need to get rid of selfcheckout, and hire people to run the registers, and block off exits like Menards has.

Not as many chips here, either. Well...tortilla chips are a must have item. There is always taco meat in some configuration..thus something my boys can throw together instead of fast food. And Aldi's are good, and inexpensive!

@@simplycreativerobin You can't beat them on price, they just don't have everything all the time. But...I also get out of there quicker! Their bagged salads are affordable, still. If you don't get to the salad sell by date, save the toppings/dressings in the bag..it's still good!! Robin, have you ever thought about growing lettuce on your patio/window? Little investment, yummy payoff! Have a great weekend!!

Try Trader Joe’s if you can for bagged salads. They are cheaper, bigger and delicious.

taking tumeric today for a headache. Interesting and good sounding meals. I bought a small jar of pesto, to see what it taste like, it's expensive. Haven't opened it yet. Yeah I quit buying chips at those prices when they went above 3 or 4 dollars. Come home and fry a skillet of potatoes lol. But I guy at work gave me a couple ridges ruffles sour cream and cheddar, they are really good but $5 a bag at dollar General; I got shredded cheddar at home lol. I'll sometimes get store brand tortilla chips or d.g brand sour cream and onion Pringles. Yeah I don't like artificial sweeteners. I like red label Yoplait has real sugar and fruit. Yeah I don't see how familys are affording to live. Luckily, thankfully still plenty of work

The young man doing good packing his lunches. He's saving a bundle there. A $5 bag of cheese doodles stretched out over a week with sandwichs. He can about eat all week for what one or two meals out would cost. He's got the right perspective. I made a big pot of potato soup tonight is good. Sprinkled some cheese and cayenne on it.

Ive had their chips. I like them. Last Thanksgiving they had some crazy flavors. Stuffing, mashes potato and chives... they were good!
