My stepdad was an owner operator, and I rode with him to pick up a 35,000lb load of potatoes in North Dakota, to take to the Lay's factory in Perry Georgia, and Lay's rejected the entire load, saying the potatoes were way too big. They only use a certain size of potatoes to make their potato chips. Long story short, we were stuck with 35,000lbs of really good potatoes that we had to do something with because they couldn't find anybody that wanted them and we needed them off our truck, so we found a place near a truckstop in some town that allowed us to park there and helped us make a few signs that said FREE POTATOES, and we had people taking all they could fit in their vehicles, Everyone was very happy and thankful to get them, so seeing that it made us feel better about getting stuck with them, and it only took 7 hours to give them all away. We thought for sure it would take a few days.

I drove for Walmart for 20 years. I always feel compassion for drivers that sometimes get jacked around and given a hard time when there doesn't seem to be a reason or a need. The last 20 years, I drove for Walmart, but the first 23 years were a whole different deal. The job I had just before I went to Walmart was a with a company that got bought out by your company, TRL in Pittston, Pa. I'm sure you know that I paid my dues with that outfit. A 4 1/2 day delivery of asparagus from the left coast, and Acme made me sit on Pattison Ave for another day and a half before they even assigned me a door. Not to even mention the constant knocking on the door from prospective lumpers or boys and girls with bad intentions. Then they said that all the monofilament mesh that was over the asparagus was "MY PROBLEM" not theirs. So I did what everybody else did. Backed in at the Delo truck stop and kicked the dunnage out the back door of the trailer. There was a very peculiar odor around that section of the parking lot, but I didn't want to know nuthin'. I'm sure you have plenty of war stories of your own, but I'll bet you never got a speeding ticket for 56 mph in a 55 mph zone...at 2 AM in Port Clinton, Ohio on state route 2 east of Toledo. There was just me, and him on a 3 mile strait flat road. My bird dog lit up and he turned on his lights while he was still coming at me so I pulled over and waited while he leisurely passed me and did a U- turn to apprehend me. The trooper extorted $69 from me on the spot from my Mastercard. He even had one of those old card slide printer and forms in his back seat for my shopping convenience. That was before the CDL so they could never get away with that today. In 43 years one can accumulate a lot of trucker tales that some may not even believe. But MAN, what a ride it was seeing America "from sea to shining sea", which was Hrobuchak's catch phrase. I wish you the best on your journey to look for America!

Walmart is terrible to deal with . My buddy worked at warehouse as a supervisor and he quit a good paying job there because of all of the crap would do to suppliers , shippers , brokers and truck drivers . Screwing everyone out of what was just plain BS . The straw that broke the camels back for my buddy was when a shipment of shoes came in and after the driver backed up to the door and started his break my buddy had to tell the driver to hook back up and park way out in the parking area and they would call him when they were ready for his load to be spotted and unloaded . The situation was that Walmart told the supplier that they would not pay the agreed price , cutting it by 33% . A full 18 hours later before the driver was unloaded and left that warehouse . Total BS from Walmart , the next day my buddy got to work and asked about the load of shoes and was told what had happened . They were short handed as it was as people wouldn't continue to work for them anymore . My buddy quit then and there and when asked why he was quitting he told them in a very straight forward way how sorry Walmart was and they could shove the company where the sun doesn't shine . He went back to college and is now working for a very well established finance company making well up in the six figures yearly . Best move he ever made . I can't stand Walmart and Hell I live here in Arkansas and that makes it worse and reading and hearing all of the propaganda about and coming from Walmart . When I shop at Walmart I don't handle anything out of my handicap cart basket , an employee has to handle every single item , I'm not a Walmart employee . Check my receipt , yeah when follow me to my truck . I'm Deaf .

If and whenever this happens to you or any trucker, *PLEASE* find a local farmer, community farmers market, local CSA (community supported agriculture), or anything similar. We will take this produce, we can usually pay you for it, but even its a small farmer and not able to pay you he should be able take it to get it off your truck. I'm a small farmer in Fulton County Georgia, yea Atlanta, and we would rather you drop it on us than let it go bad. There are several communities that are food deserts and dont have access to good produce, they could use this. Not to mention food banks and pantries that help the homeless.

I really enjoy hearing and seeing your trucking journey. The camera that you are using to film your trips only distorts the front of truck when it is standing or moving. My visual perception is obscure how your camera films only the front of your truck when it is standing and moving.

Your backing in Walmart makes it look easy. This is my biggest fear and why I don't get my CDL. I don't think I could back up like that.

TRUST ME! It was my biggest fear but with time you get better,, Now I love backing 😂 I still have my days where its like “Ive never backed a semi before “ If you really want you CDL “GO FOR IT!”

just came across your vid, good job girl. When i worked Peterbilt Denton, there were so many drivers that could not back up to receiving docks. I worked in the test department and guard shack would call me to back drivers truck up to dock numerous times a week. This was in early 90’s, i’m sure it would be much worse today.

This was a really good insight into part of what I’m about to be doing. I’m coming to Prime in the next week or so.
