Oh my... My childhood friend came over to my house so we could play on my ex-stepdad's chipped Xbox. We scrolled through the 100s of chipped games and he stopped on "Halo" because his uncle had showed him it before. This was in 2002/2003 and I must've been like 6-7 years old. My mom disapproved of shooting games in general, obviously. We started the mission "Assault on the controlroom" because that was the level that had been unlocked most recent. Wandering through those dark hallways and sneaking up behind the gaurding elites... such a chilling feeling for a 7 year old... My older brother and I used to play the campaign over and over again, and when we weren't; we would play 1v1s on Blood Gulch or any other map and just screw around and do Warthog tricks and attempt glitches. Halo CE is by far my favorite game in the franchise. Didn't discover Xbox Live before 2007 when Halo 3 came out, and that basically opened my eyes to a whole new world... The end.

Hey Walshy, I'm pretty sure you said you'd do a halo history with Ghandi. You should definitely still try to do it with him, the fans would love it. You also said you would "make it happen" with Ogre 2. I think the fans with LOVE to see a halo history episode with those two. Please consider still doing more halo history. I absolutely love this series and love listening to how people got started and all the stories and stuff. Some really funny stories too lol. But yeah, please bring this back Walshy, I loved listening to these

Hey Walshy, would you mind making an elaborate on map control? As in having good team setups team to complement eachother's positions? I would really like to see a good tutorial on going into all the little factors that determine how good a position is, and how they work together. It's a complex subject to cover but i really see it as the fundament of competitive halo strategy and i can't find a good tutorial on it so i'm a bit desperate. If you've got the time for this, i would really appreciate it!

I agree, knowledge like this is hard to come by. Anyone can learn how to win gunfights, but team play and map control (more competitive techniques) are rare to learn

Dave, it would be great if you ended each episode by asking players how they see the competitive Halo scene currently and where they see things going with Halo 5, what their impressions of Halo 5 are, what they think needs to happen to improve the Halo scene, etc. The history and stories are great, but those insights would be fantastic to have. Thanks!

I didn’t get Xbox live until early 2007 so I didn’t get to play online for most of halo 2 but I got to play at the end as halo 3 came out. My internet was really bad satellite internet so I didn’t get to play much halo 2 on Xbox live but I still loved it from LAN. My brother and my friend down the street would play with our 2 Xbox’s system linked, we would always get another friend to come over and play so we could 2v2 and very occasionally we would have a friend with a router come over and we would have a full on halo party with 5+ Xbox’s. I miss those days so much but I wish I would’ve lived in town so I could’ve had cable internet back in halo 2 and halo 3. Those were the days!

No walshy We dont just insult them just because they're young. The problem stems from these little kids that started playing halo when reach or 4 came out and have the nerve to say halos 1 2 and 3 suck. Like wtf. I don't care if you like halo reach or halo 4. I only start to care once you insult a game I grew up on when you barely even played it.

Ninja sounds so enthusiastic about his past in Halo, there's no way he isn't gonna play Halo Infinite. Man if that game is good and manages to get the big streamers on board especially having the game on PC too, then Halo could make a big comeback, thanks to Ninja. That shit would be absolutely insane, best comeback story in history.
@3n1fss6 жыл бұрын
OreRound PvP nah, he’s gone to bigger and better games like Fortnite 😳
@itsJoshW6 жыл бұрын
Yeah, he'll probably be trying out Infinite when it comes out, and that will be the deciding factor if he'll be back to the Halo grind or even try his edge at competitive again. He is still even passionate about Halo, it's just not a public thing every minute. Early last year, he was very vocal on how he felt about the current direction of Halo, especially when 343 attempted to switch the starting weapons to automatics and everything again. The only thing we can hope is that the next Halo title will push itself to a fine line of 'modern' and 'classic', to where it will be appealing to current, new players, and classic players alike. Possibly, if you will, a renaissance of Halo.
@itsJoshW6 жыл бұрын
He's playing Fortnite because the Battle Royal styles appeal currently more fun to him for multiplayer than anything that is currently out. Classic Halo's, even within the MCC, feel dated. Halo 5 really isn't that fun of a game to play, and MCC in general lacks composure to make it 'fun'...after a few months of each, at least -- and Ninj did it for years lol. I can see him coming back to Halo, but it may not be until Infinite launches, and ONLY if the launch isn't terrible lol.
@3n1fss6 жыл бұрын
Josh Washington, Halo 5 MP is pretty awesome. And MCC is doing fantastic. Even the pro’s are playing MCC right now.
@itsJoshW6 жыл бұрын
@@3n1fss My variation of 'fun' and 'fantastic' may be vastly different than yours lol. MCC is fun for die-hard Halo fans. For anyone who can spend 1/3rd their year playing the game, MCC is fun. Halo 5 got stale after the first 2 years...that's why no pro streamed it, because they couldn't stand playing it lol...especially matchmaking. I do agree that MCC is stronger than where it was, but a population of 2,000 - 10,000 is far from fantastic in my mind, especially when Halo 5 had this amount even before MCC went to pro circuit lol....and everyone said "Halo 5 is dead". In my opinion, Halo is on it's last legs until Infinite comes out, then we'll see a rise again. Otherwise, Halo has been the same population basis since the end of 2017, except Worlds 2018 brought people in 'just because' it's a competition for a high dollar amount lol.

20:30 In my experience, back in the early 2000s most the people didnt have internet at their homes. So I understand Tyler not knowing about the Xbox Live option on H2. I remember playing games like Need For Speed Underground on my PS2 which had a "Play Online" option and I never even cared about it because it was useless for me. But yeah this was awesome to watch. The microsoft 1v1 story was great. And you of all people deserve to be representing Halo in those asian countries while being treated as VIP and still getting paid. Maybe you can ask Microsoft to send you over to Europe, I'm sure you'd have a lot of fun (just like Tyler did) :D Also, that wallet story at the end was something else lol
