This cartoon is a parody of the story of Benjamin Franklin's house slave who was a big part of Franklin's inventions and other projects. Now by no means was Franklin a clutz or unintelligent but without the help of his house slave we may have waited for electricity for another generation or so. Because during that time it was illegal for slave to be literate, the help of "Amos" was kept under wraps. This cartoon is a peak into a part of lost African American History.
