I have great memories of watching these Disney movies with my parents when I was a kid and the narrators voice was always so comforting. I miss those days so much.

That's the voice of Rex Allen. Even though I wasn't around when these first aired, I too, have found a lot of comfort in his voice. He embodies classic Disney programming and simpler times. I'm an 80s kid, but I think we both share the longing for days past. I'm glad these programs provide some comfort and joy for you!!!

This is one of my all-time favorites I love this story it reminds me of my childhood my grandfather and uncle had a horse and cattle farm and one time when I was about 6 yrs old my grandfather walked into the house with a puppy that looks just like a coyote he told us that he found it out in one of the fields by itself crying for his mother but he couldn't find it its mother so we took him in and bottle fed him turned out to be one of the finest dogs to have on the farm there ever was he named the dog concho after concho in this movie Gramps always said that this was a full-blooded coyote but I don't think so I think he was more of a koi dog a half domesticated dog and half coyote he looks just like a coyote but he didn't act like a coyote at all there was no baying at the Moon we had him around cats and small animals and he never went after anything my grandfather trained him be a watchdog cattle dog and he did that for years and years

Ron Miller and Diane Disney kept it on track for another twenty years. But of course Walt set it all up.

I lived for Sunday nights in the sixties and seventies. Walt's genius was recognizing a great story. Many of these episodes, and his cinema films were based on books. This one here, was based on the book Coyote, Come Home. I consider those days, the highpoint of children's literature. I sure did love those nature books as a child

I grew up in the 60's & always looked forward to Disney on Sunday nights, despite the fact the beginning of another school week was only hours away. In terms of the studio, Walt's legacy, etc., I think what happened was that, within just a year or two of his death, times changed drastically in the U.S., with all the social, cultural, & political upheaval of the late 1960's. Millions of baby-boomer kids, who had grown-up on Disney TV shows & movies, were entering college & all the rebellion & turmoil that went along with it, fueled mainly by a fear of being drafted & sent off to fight in a distant war, for which they had neither the stomach nor the patriotism. The latter concept itself came into question. The so-called "Generation Gap" was, in fact, quite real. Totally attuned to the times that were a'changin', kids were rejecting their parents & the corny, old-fashioned values they espoused. Hence, the decline of Disney's fortunes, which, by the dawn of the 70's--& for long thereafter---was considered as corny & old-fashioned as it gets; in short, the products of the House of Mouse became totally "uncool" & were almost totally shunned. The studio was forced to rely for its profits from 2 sources-- Disneyland & the periodic rerelease of its classic animated films. The latter, of course, remained Walt's most fondly remembered legacy & whose now-struggling animation division continued to have the field to itself, despite the tepid reception the Disney animated films of the 70's & a good chunk of the 80's received. It seemed the studio had lost its way, running out of steam & whose live-action movies became lackluster, unimaginative products. Eventually, of course, the studio bounced back & began once more to prosper, the long twilight struggle over. It took an immense span of time for Disney to find its footing & successfully plug back into a vastly changed public's entertainment choices. By & large, the studio achieved this through new management & vision, of course, but primarily from the almost total abandonment of its core product-principles, shifting instead to racy & raunchy material & peppering its live-action films with current big-name stars, all contracted-out to a sister-studio, Touchstone, etc., which produced "Disney for adults"---it just wasn't advertised as such.

Love your channel, thanks so much for this!! Would you happen to have any of Walt's TV Introductions for theatrical movies that would show on the anthology (Treasure Island, Robin Hood, so on and so forth)? Or any MMC episodes that promoted upcoming films (Westward Ho, Light in the Forest, etc)? Thanks!!! Keep up the good work!

After I finish Season 13 I'm going to go back and post all the Walt lead-ins from the episodes that would've otherwise have been blocked (animated segments, theatrical features released on TV, etc.) MMC episodes are hard to come by...maybe someday I'll get those!

Cowboy Rex Allen performed as a narrator, singer, and actor in more than 40 Disney westerns, primarily for the Walt Disney's Wonderful World of Color television series. One Peron commented on the narrators voice ,I too love hearing the voice of Rex Allen

After a little digging this took place near the Wutapki National Monument northeast of Flagstaff along the Little Colorado river. The waterfall you see when Concho and the sheep are drinking the muddy water is a dam on the river!
