I watched dozens of Fantasia clips back in my elementary and middle school music class in China... No language barrier for children, the music and pictures are everything you need to appreciate art as a human being. One of the best music/aesthetic education.

This was my favorite cartoon growing up. It filled my world with magic, wonder, and music. Music like I had never heard before. I would dance around the house humming the songs imagining I was an autumn leaf in the wind.

This isn't just excellent. This is extraordinary! The sheer artistic excellence is unmatched. The conductor is Leopold Stokowski, and you might want to read his book MUSIC FOR ALL OF US both for itself and for his comments on FANTASIA. He was one of the 20th century's greats, and he's conducting the Philadelphia Orchestra--another 20th century great. Disney could take it all and add genius and imagination.

Magic, excitement, music, action, fantasy, thrills, and adventures. Wonderful, incredible, magnificent, amazing, fantastical, and unforgettable. My God, Fantasia has the waltz with the Nutcracker suite and the fairies are dancing gracefully as they change the leaves with magic in the seasons of spring, summer, autumn, and winter. Oh, what an enchanting melody. It lifts my spirit high and makes my heart leap with excitement. I love it. Fantasia is the best animated film in the world, thanks to my late hero, Walt Disney (Walter Elias Disney). One of my favorite Disney movies since I was little and I have never forgotten them all. Fantasia, 1940. And also Fantasia 2000, 1999. That never gets old. I love fairy tales, always have and will. I never gave up believing in fairies and magic with all my heart because I still refuse to grow up, and forget about the precious things I knew, especially those from my childhood. I am like Peter Pan. Believe in magic and never grow up. No growing up, yuck! My one and only wish is to keep the magic alive for all time. I also wish to be a fairy to stay strong, childlike, young, and beautiful forever and ever like the Fantasian fair folks (Fantasia/Fantasia 2000), the blue fairy (Pinocchio), Fairy Godmother (Cinderella), Tinker Bell (Peter Pan), and the celebrated fairy godmothers (Sleeping Beauty). I, Heran Fatima Gertraud Mouada, am a lover of fantasy, adventures, fun, magic, and creatures. Master and guardian of imagination. Keeper of secrets and treasures. Come away and dream away. Let imagination light my way and take me as far as my heart can see. Dream away to a place where hope is shining, find my silver lining. Everything I need is just a dream. Think wonderful, happy thoughts to make me fly. All it takes is faith, trust and pixie dust. Dreams and wishes do come true if you believe. Anything is real if you just believe. If I was in magical places like Fantasia, Neverland, Fairyland or somewhere, I would forget strictly bossy people, reality, stupid grown-up stuff, and my troubles. No schools, no cops, no ordering around, no chores, no rules. But most of all, no growing up. Sometimes I wish to be in what I dreamed of. A world filled with magic, immortal beings, fantastic creatures, and little people. A place where you will remain young and never grow old. Forever young and beautiful as a fairy, a pixie, and a sprite. Fantasy and magic rule and reality sucks!

When talented, creative people get inspired by the creations of those who came before them, you sometimes get something marvelous. That's what happened with Fantasia in 1940. This movie and Mary Poppins from 1964 are the two greatest things Walt Disney and his staff made for the silver screen.

I don’t get why Fantasia gets negative critics just because the whole entire premise is 2 hours because that’s the point, the whole film was 2 hours and it’s because it was to present the magic of Disney and encapsulate what Disney was all about to the audience, combining classical music with the peak of Walt Disney animation and spectacular performances. Each segment presents what Disney uses for their animated films. -Toccata and Fugue in D Minor - The first segment was to present how Disney uses magic in this movies because without this segment, we wouldn’t have the dress transformation from Cinderella, Rapunzel’s magic hair and The Family Madrigal using their magical powers to help the people in the village (Isabela, Camilo, Luisa). -The Nutcracker Suite - The segment was to present how couples and dance sequences are used in Disney animated films. -The Sorcerer’s Apprentice - Mickey’s magic powers in this scene also exemplifies Disney’s magic. -Rite of Spring - Without this segment, we wouldn’t have every battle scene between the heroes and the villains, if you compare the battle sequence between the Tyrannosaurus and the Stegosaurus to the other end fights in other Disney animated films (The Great Mouse Detective, Sleeping Beauty, Peter Pan, Moana etc), it is exactly the same. -Intermission/Meet the Soundtrack - This segment represents how Disney uses musical numbers in their films like Encanto, The Lion King and Mulan. -The Pastoral Symphony - The same situation with the Rite of Spring since Zeus (Bad Version) tried to crash the party, it’s like the scene where Hades crashes the party and manipulates Hercules to give up his strength, the dance sequences and the sequences where the Centaurs makes couples, that’s to present how Disney makes couples in their films and how they make characters have great moments. -Dance of the Hours - Same thing with the Meet the Sountrack, it presents how Disney uses musical numbers but also dance routines, just the We Don’t Talk About Bruno number from Encanto. -Night on Bald Mountain - If we didn’t had this segment, we wouldn’t had greatest Disney villains like Scar, Ursula, Dr Facilier, Hades, Frollo, Cruella De Vil, The Evil Queen and many more. -Ava Maria - This whole segment definitely embodied the theme of symphony used in music such as the musical songs from The Hunchback of Notre Dame, Sleeping Beauty and The Lion King. I’m going to say this, this film is truly a masterpiece and if you are a fan of classical music or need to know abour Disney, check Fantasia because it’s a stunningly beautiful and timeless masterpiece and it is a fact, not an opinion.

This is beautiful! Breath-takingly so!!! Craftmanship at it best! Can you imagine how many hand crafted frames it took just to make the fairies dance along with the "Ballet spores?!! This is not just a cartoon!! This is art, and imagine how much talent and effort it took just to make all the frames work in sync with Tjajkovskijs almost fairytale-like music!! If there ever is/was a golden standard when it comes to animated art, this is it!!!
