During the Happiest Homecoming on Earth Celebration, Disneyland got a new parade which debuted on May 5, 2005. Walt Disney's Parade of Dreams ran until Nov. 11, 2008. This parade celebrates the dreams of Disney characters and is broken up into 8 sections. Jump5 sings an upbeat version of "Welcome" from Brother Bear which is played during the parade.
In this home video you will see. . .
Introduction. Like many things during the 50th anniversary of Disneyland, Julie Andrews introduces the parade over the speakers. She encourages us to celebrate 50 years of Disneyland and dedicates this parade to the dream of Walt Disney who started it all.
Gateway to Dreams. Peter Pan is in a Disneyland train with Tinker Bell on top and the Main Street Train Station in the back.
Dream of Enchantment. (Beauty and the Beast) Belle and Beast dance on this float next to an audio-animatronic Lumiere. This was the last time Jerry Orbach provided dialogue for Lumiere before his passing in Dec. 2004.
Dream of Laughter. (Pinocchio) This was the float that stopped in front of me for the one stop in this parade. A giant Geppetto is on this float and during the stop the back rises up so the puppets (real performers) can do tricks on bungee cords. Pinocchio dances around.
Dream of Another World. (The Little Mermaid) Ariel is on this big clam shell float that shoots bubbles. There is an Ursula float as well.
Dream of Imagination. (Alice in Wonderland) This float has a giant caterpillar with Alice and the Mad Hatter. Jumping flowers follow the float.
Dream of Adventure. (The Lion King) Simba is on top of Pride Rock on this float, with Pumba sleeping in a hammock. Costumed animals surround this float.
Dreams Come True. (Finale) Mickey and Minnie are on this Sleeping Beauty Castle float along with the princesses and other Disney favorites.
