Walt Disney Studios Park in Disneyland Paris - My First Visit & What To Do

Max, they have you walk through the building because it's a studio building and they want you to feel as if your on a set of a movie or something...also, it's sorta like the Main Street of the park, with the lights up top and the facades and other things...i havent been there but thats what I'm thinking is the purpose of the building...

I think you're so harsh with this park ! haha I actually really like it and I looooove the concept of arriving in a real movie studio, and having to go through this "set" building to then discover the movies of Disney studios x) Anyway besides Marvel Land, they are going to expand the park massively in the next few years, with Frozen land and Star Wars land coming here so it should be better in terms of content (cause it is true it's a bit limited...) And of course thank you for your video which is really nice :)

He oscillates between mentioning that most of the major attractions (Big Thunder, Phantom Manor, Space Mountain, the castle, etc.) are superior, and then complaining about stuff that can mostly be explained by the fact that he's visiting another country. 🙄The park he's in is in the midst of a major overhaul. They've been gradually closing things over the past couple of years to make room for Marvel Land, Frozen Land, and Star Wars Land. He's judging a park that's very much in transition right now, and one that the American company that built it never put enough money or attention into in the past.

DLP was my home park for a long time when I was younger, so both parks have always been very special to me. With the current construction in the studios everything does feel very disjointed and not well bonded together, but the major plans for the park look super promising!

But you can ask for them to do HTH in english. You missed Aerosmith which is good as well. It is a better park than DCA was when it opened. But it is a weak after thought park that was created to give some crowd relief for the main park. if needed. Hopefully the new adds will make it a destination park.

The Rock'n'Roller Coaster is closed and being re-themed as an Ironman coaster for the new Marvel Land. But I think he did go on it while he was there.

Trust me on this, when it's cold, windy and raining, you'd be kissing Studio 1 walls. I actually like it more than the entrance to Hollywood studios. There's no surprise in the entrance to the American parks.

Then he would have missed the beautiful Lion King/Jungle Book stuff, (my favorite thing they've ever done) though. Really, the best time to visit was when they had Pirates and Princesses in the main park and Season of the Force in Studios, though, as far as having lots available in both parks.

I really loved the studio tram tour, it's pretty outdated but that's the charm of it and there are some unironically really cool parts! You get to laugh at the corny jokes and the fact that they thought the props from Pearl Harbour would be interesting, but Jeremy Irons is charming and you get to see an amazing special effects thing! Also I really thought crush's coaster was pretty extreme for me, it basically made me discover I can get motion sick and I was surprised they'd connect it to such a child oriented property

We enjoyed WDSP, but I'd watched other vlogs before we went and my expectations were low. We also spent 2 days in the parks and 4 days seeing Paris. If we went to Paris for the sole purpose of going to DLP we might have been disappointed but Paris has Soooooo much to see! WDSP is working to improve and who knows in a few years it might be the park of parks!

@@shawneaton9203 It's literally the largest park expansion project in Disney resort history. He went when half the park was closed and judged it based on that. It's never been super cohesive, but that's because the US company didn't put money into it, not because it's Disneyland Paris.

It's really good to see an Americans opinion on it , as growing up with these parks I love them . An always wonder if it has the same appeal. Crush's coaster and the ratatouille part are the latest additions so assuming the Disney company had more say/ ownership over what happens (why those aspects are better) Where as the older stuff was more the French government from what I understand. So now they have full control it can only get better and you'll start to see that I think with the new elements that are coming.

Disney's always had full control over the attraction choices, just not how the parks were run, etc. The older stuff was the Disney corporation deciding to open a second park, but refusing to put in the necessary money to make it successful. But the first time I visited it there was loads more going on even though the Ratatouille and Toy Story parts didn't even exist then. He's judging the park while half of it's closed.

Jose is mostly correct. If you walk behind any of what is shown you will see the hollywood movie lot style false facades. Left side is merch and right side is food. When you walk through the front gates you on on the studio lot and the first buildings are the admin building and such which lead you to the main studio lot building. Although the story kind of falls apart periodically. You have the walkway with the false scene and the studio backlot tour plus a old special effects show and such, but tower of terror barely fits and crush doesn't as well as other rides.

I really loved the studios park when it first opened, although there wasn’t as much to do there when it did, it was still fun, however it has been outdated for a long time now. The Armageddon experience only just closed! It should have gone years ago with some of the others, so I think once all the new expansion and themed areas come in it will be an amazing park. They seriously need to change the motor show it’s been the same show since it opened!

They're not going to change it now because it's gone after the expansion. I've heard a socially distanced version Jungle Book Jive show is happening there later this summer, though, so I'm interested to see what that looks like.

For now only works on marvel land has started. Apparently they are also working on the main lake but Frozen and Stars Wars lands are still only projects for now. Official opening year is 2025 for everything so we'll have to be patient...

Marvel is supposed to open by 2021, (we'll see if that's still true thanks to COVID closures) Frozen stuff between 2022 and 2023, and Star Wars by 2024-2025. Most of the work is concentrated on Marvel because it opens sooner, but they've definitely broken ground for other stuff if the aerial shots are any indication. It's not very cohesive, but I wouldn't call it confusing.

For a long time the Walt Disney company didn't have the majority of shares in Disneyland Paris so couldn't do a lot now they own over 95% meaning they can claim it back as there own that's why they are doing the major spruce up of the park because they can now

They absolutely could have put money into it before. They're doing it now because the parks are earning them money now. They largely abandoned the resort when it wasn't turning a profit, rather than trying to figure out how to make it work. They had more than enough control to fix what was wrong with it. In the case of the Studios, they decided to build a new park, but didn't want the money necessary to do it well.

@@DjEddySantana If you skipped the park, how can you possibly know it's the same or okay to miss? Certainly not based on this video which was filmed while half the park is closed for renovations. Hollywood Studios didn't have a lot going for it pre-Star Wars, either, if you're only basing it on attractions. Disney Studios is the same--the park is about the shows. Also, it's spelled 'Ratatouille.' The Tower of Terror is not the same and neither was Rock'n'Roller Coaster when it was still open. A person who doesn't know the parks well making a judgmental video on a park when it's half-closed for renovations doesn't confirm that someone else who doesn't know the parks made the right decision in skipping it. 🙄

At the opening of this park in 2002, they have only 8 rides (Animagique Theater, Cinemagique theater, flying carpet, Walt Disney Television Tour (now stitch live and Disney Jr live on stage) rock'n'rollercoaster and Armageddon special effects (The worst ride ever !!) Studio tram tour and Art of Disney Animation. Then they are open Crush's coaster and Cars in 2007, Tower of Terror and stitch live! in 2008. Disney's Jr Live on stage in 2009, Toy story playland in 2010 and Ratatouille area in 2014. What's next ?? The big expension with Marvel, Frozen and Star wars in 2025. We've gone twice so far, and the biggest differences was the dearth of people wearing Disney clothing, like ears. Also, the cast and guests were NOT into pin trading. Most folks were baffled by the concept.😕 I did get some gruff for not speaking French to the cast. So then I responded in Chinese, Thai and then in Spanish.

Maybe they just didn't want to trade pins with you? I'm polite and I don't find I even need to go up to CastMembers about pins. They stop me when they see mine. (And they're all standard stuff--nothing limited edition.) They mostly carry them around in bags in their pockets. Nobody expects visitors to be fluent, but if you're traveling in a country, it's basic courtesy to learn a few phrases in the local language.

The Studios park needs a lot of work, (which it's getting) but there's no contest between the main park and other Disney castle parks. DLP's Space Mountain, Big Thunder Mountain, Phantom Manor, the castle, and even Small World (though I miss Mary Blair's style) are superior in every way. It's hands-down my favorite Disney park out of the three I've visited.

I actually like the concept of the park but the execution wasn't that great. And then they changed a lot of things to adjust and made them worse. The dumbest idea was to fully rely on movies like armageddon, pearl harbor, the rign of fire and dinotopia. All movies that weren't hits (armageddon beside but it was already old). I'm very excited of the big investment and hope they don't mess it up again. I don't want to shit on the french but damn that phantom manor refurbishment took about two years. It shouldn't take two years to change a few light bulbs. They really have the chance to great something here with each of the disney studios (marvel, disney animation, lucas film, pixar) having its own land in the park. But this only works if they do it in the next four to five years and not in 2050.

They completely changed the whole track and the way the ride functions in Phantom Manor, redid all the wiring, (needed considering an employee died there a few years ago) repainted the whole place and totally altered the beginning part of the attraction. It's absurd to blame the French. All these extended closures have happened since the American company took complete control of the parks and they're due to the fact that they didn't put any money into the resort's upkeep before that. All the lands are scheduled to reopen in the next three years. COVID19 closures may have affected the deadlines somewhat, but 2050 is being melodramatic. They can't complete work as quickly as they would in other parks because France has higher standards for how employees and laborers are treated.
