The pike used to scare the Daylights out of me when i was a Little kid. Though i've never encountered one in person, i can imagine they are about that size, more or less.

Hannah Banana I can see why this fish scared you when you were little, not only because of it's size and teeth, but also, the eyes. Especially when the pike is looking for Arthur after it breaks free from the chain Arthur tricked the fish into getting stuck to. It looks like the fish is looking right at you, with an angry look on it's face. I thought that was the scariest part in this fish scene. I thought it was scary, too. The fish is creepy, but it helped me when I thought eventually of some words to say to the fish in this scene: "Oh, pooh! I'm not afraid of you! Why, you're nothing but a cartoon character!" 😁

This just goes to show that something or somebody being a monster is just matter of point of view. To us pike is just fish, but to small fish pike is monster. To canary cat is monster, but to us its just a cat.

When I was little, I thought Merlin meant "Get that arrow to defend yourself from the pike." And that was because the tip of an arrow is pointy, and I thought the arrow was called a point. Just like in Rugrats, when those little kids misinterpret things they hear or see. As you mature, you realize how the little kid brain works.
