It would be awesome if you interview Andrew Tate. I’m certain it would be a very edifying conversation and you might actually change any misgivings or misconceptions you have of him.

I have had people tell me I should be a therapist. The only thing I do is ask something simple and wait. Literally, say basically nothing and people tell me their life stories.

This reminds me of a famous quote where after the long conversation, having said little except a question ot three, the person who did almost sll the talking ssid he thought it was one of best conversations he had. Maybe Eckhart Tolle used that anecdote in The Power of Now or New Earth to drive the points about listening and hie good people feel when they are given the chance to talk. Your comment, this interview and Benjamin Franklin, and many others of note, provide ample evidence of what is so. And there is this: Be different- if you don't have the facts and knowledge required, simply listen. When word gets around that you can listen when others tend to talk, you will be treated as a sage. - Mayor Ed Koch, U.S. politician I think the one lesson I have learned is that there is no substitute for paying attention. - Diane Sawyer Think like a wise man but communicate in the language of the people. - WB Yeats The obvious is that which is never seen until someone expresses it simply. - Kahlil Gibran "Common knowledge" not common enough - at the surface. To understand this in more complete national context consider this excellent vid in collective illUSion. kzbin.info/www/bejne/i4PHiXZsitmZjMksi=vOH3V3jCuWsSo89P Collective illusion of consensus which secures compliance in totalitllITarian fasc shun. Power sharing with total irresponsibility. Each person compels and helps others to be obedient., each a victim and supporter of The System . *_Instead show people by your example that it is possible to live within The Truth_*. It begins with individual candor and gracious thoughtful listening by an audience, be it 1 or millions.

@@pigslave3 That's the weird part. I don't really like a lot of people. I think that so many people are just uncomfortable with silence they just can't help themselves and start talking so as not to be uncomfortable.

I’ve been a therapist over 30 years, largely retired now. There’s a great deal more to it than that, though these days a blind dog with a note in its mouth can be a therapist. I’d go so far as to suggest that most therapists and psychologists these days are a part of the problem they are purporting to cure. What I’m suggesting is that the quality of listening you may have used to be way more normal but has become a rarity because people are so self absorbed and lacking in concentration

One of my friends is a recognised famous thinker. Journalists used to turn up to his office…, and talk. He said I thought they were coming to listen to me. He listened to them. He learnt a lot. They learnt nothing. Their readers learnt nothing either.

It’s not humans that are afraid of silence and conversation, but rather a western phenomena. In the Middle East silence is used, skillfully during negotiations and deployed with particular affect against Westerners….

0:15: 😊 Interviewees are willing to talk and share information about Musk, but the author only includes on-the-record quotes in his book. 2:43: 😶 Respecting silence is difficult in human interaction, but staying silent can be powerful and give others a chance to keep talking. 5:23: 🗣 Learning to be quieter and genuinely curious can lead to better conversations. 7:43: ! The speaker discusses the importance of asking sincere questions and listening to others' ideas. 10:05: 🔓 The speaker discusses the importance of disarming individuals and breaking down their shields to have open and honest conversations. The silence when talking to Elon Musk is not him trying to stall or be a jerk, but it is his computer mind, deep thinking, and analyzing massive amounts of stored data in his mind, to think up some brilliant answer.
