“I am not his friend, I am his biographer” so much respect for Walter. And for Elon for apparently accepting Walter’s proposal without a second thought.

To me, when all this started, Elon could barely comunicate with people. He can now stand on his stage at Giga Texas and hold court for hours, he can go on SNL and out-perform the professional actors there. Your video was excellent and your questions to Isaacson were absolutely perfect, as were his answers.

Great job Ellie! I think people need to look past Musk’s random comments on X and focus on what he has done for the world. Tesla is helping us towards a sustainable future. SpaceX is helping us explore the universe. Buying Twitter has helped move us towards free speech.

There's a huge and fundamental difference between telling someone their idea or work sucks and telling them that they suck as a person, and unless that person has willingly and maliciously done something, telling them they suck is unacceptable. People deserve respect and courtesy, and leaders who don't give both are poor leaders and bullies, and their leadership method sucks. This has nothing to do with insisting on hard work and better results.
@SkyDomeVIZE10 ай бұрын
Is really hard to work for him, based on my knowledge. If you are a family person and like to have personal time it will be difficult, but I can't deny Elon is some worth working for if you believe in the mission.
@paulmichaelfreedman833410 ай бұрын
Yeah, he's a slave driver in that respect. Not much empathy for personal stuff, there's a mission to be accomplished. His autism makes him a hardliner, and don't ever bullshit him. But if you can handle that, you'll be working on and for the FUTURE. Also, once Musk has his colony on Mars, you can bet money will be abolished.

Great men have driven our culture and technology forward. They are not to be judged by their foibles but rather by what they have acheived. Elon Musk has forever changed spaceflight, global internet access, and the acceptance of electric cars; to name a few of his accomplishments. He deserves all the accolades that come his way. Its a petty world we live in that seeks only to drag down the great to the level of the mediocre.

Yeah, he’s human. I’d said that couple times. I’m just younger than him 5 years old, I noticed him early on, but I worked hard on my job. He casted in several movies in early age and he sometimes just love to act in humorous ways, that’s his personality. My little uncle is same age with him and work in a company once supplied parts to Tesla, we knew better for that.

I support Elon in spite of all his many political and personal faults. I am a very liberal life-long Democrat who struggles with very many of the things Elon does. But I realize Elon is the only American stopping Russia from being the sole transportation method we have to the international space station, and singlehandedly addressing climate change by leading the electric car revolution. Bill
@tysonn473610 ай бұрын
I too am on the left and it's disheartening for me to see so many of us that want to throw Elon under the bus because of political viewpoints. As if politics was more important than climate change. SMH.

All the Governments in the world, have known that the oil supply required, to meet the demands of the world population growth, would eventually come to a point in time, where the demand would out-strip the supply of oil made available. Hell, it was predicted by the Shell Oil scientist M.K. Hubbert in the mid-1950s, who created the Bell Shaped Curve for finite resources. It is estimated that we peaked in 2006-2008. What Elon Musk's Tesla has done, is that it has forced the 'market' of alternative power supply to feed the cars (Solar grids and Tesla Batteries) and thus reducing demand for petrol, which requires refining from raw oil. This reduces oil consumption (also less oil for engines and transmissions) and that helps to prolong the oil resources. The oil is still going to run out, but maybe the industry development of the many experimental fusion power systems, will finally become a reality and then a cheap source of steam generated power, will arrive just in time to stop the collapse of world industry or all out war of resources?? Either way, Elon did what no other Government ever endorsed or promoted, a reduction in oil consumption. The big powers put all their money in I.T.E.R in France. And we are still waiting for the 'proof of concept test' to go live. It won't even be a power plant, as it is just the smallest design calculated (!! I hope they got that right !! ) to see if their theory will work.

Elon questions every assumption of common wisdom, but like most of us he has somewhat of a blind spot for questioning his own assumptions. He also tends to overgeneralize at times, treating exceptions to universal rules as if they were themselves universal rules. He is, like everyone, human, and therefore flawed, yet still a genius. Genius doesn't mean perfect, nor infallible. It is usually accompanied by some form of immoderacy.
@myyklmax10 ай бұрын
A excellent, more in depth look into the Biographeenof ELON MUST Les Friedman. Can Elon be considered more a Brilliant Genius, who care about the future survival of humanity than a Nice Guy, who loves and trust is family and close circle of friends more that the chaos that is going on in the world, and organizations and politicians who want himhim to financially support their platforms and humanitarian endeavors or than his quest to conquer space? I suspect the latter is the reason Elon gets such negative press. Organization want Elon to finance their visions above his own .... and Elon refuses.

Thanks for the info. You gave insightful info. Walter Isaacson does great work, but he didn't interview Steve Jobs's early 1980's private secretary, who I know. And she has said he was nothing but kind to her. So maybe Jobs was "mean" only to motivate, for the tasks at hand.

Thanks for filming Walter Issacson, I was interested in seeing what the author was like in person. His Steve Jobs book is amazing; it’s perfect and encompasses Steve’s entire life. I’ve read the Elon book too but half the book is focused on the last 2 years and mostly the twitter dramas. There definitely will be a sequel to the Elon book as there is so much to come in the man’s life

Thank you for the video of the Isaacson interview, your view of the book, and your 3 questions. I was a big Elon fanboy before reading the biography. I did enjoy the book and came away with a better understanding of Musk as a human with imperfections. He has/is/will accomplish great things but is a huge jerk at times and a tyrannical boss. I applaud him as an innovator and someone that can make the impossible possible. With that comes the darkness of demon mode and all the negative stuff…a truly imperfect human.
