I really don't get the idea here. What's wrong with cooling holes probing? isn't that gonna do the same thing?

Hello @hangme! Thank you for your interest and your questions. We will gladly explain the advantages to you. In contrast to the manual measuring method, the automatic process saves time. The integrated camera system works during non-productive time, which could also be a solution for the radial positioning of special tools outside the machine. At the same time the measurement is more accurate and the process is more repeatable, eliminating human error. Coolant holes that turn out to be incorrect can be sorted out before they even reach the machine. Teaching new tool geometries and designs is also very easy. The non-contact method prevents damage to tools. In contrast to probing, it is possible to detect coolant holes with a diameter of 0.25mm or the pitch circle diameter of 0.8mm and smaller. Also PCD veins and PCD plates do not have an area that can be probed with a manual probing.
