The levels in this game really do get progressively more tedious and frustrating, which is a shame. This game has so much going for it in other ways, though. The sound design and just general charm of this game is great. There's so many nice little touches and genuine creativity that went into it. It will always hold a special place in my heart for those reasons. A lot of the mechanics haven't aged well, but it still makes me happy to play it. :)

Considering the time I spent as a kid 110%ing this and now the time I’ve spent watching dunkey play it, I realized that I’ve spent a discernible fraction of my time on this earth engaged with donkey Kong 64. Could’ve spent that time learning the guitar or a language or something. Oh well

Its super unfortunate that this emulator doesn't show off ALL the games flair. Ex: the pause screen is supposed to only bulr the game into the background, not just a black screen, and the death animation for the enemies doesn't occur. Still 9/10 tho!

Donkey Konga 2 was great but the soundtrack for the first one was a lot of classic songs and the soundtrack for the second one was disappointing if you weren't into pop songs and top hits on the radio during the time. It's definitely dated.
