their voices are way different in the first few episodes cuz Brendon Small didn't have a voice set for them cuz he wasn't sure how he wanted them to sound. and their names were switched because it never actually says who is who. its up to them. and they're so enamored with each other they switch their names to compliment the other.

Reminds me of two boys I knew in Boy Scouts. They were a pair. Always together. Maybe 11 or 12. I was sitting near by when one of them whispered to the other "kiss me" and his *friend* whispered back "not here". 😄 Keep in mind this was back in the 80s so... they weren't out of the closet. They didn't act super gay like Walter and Perry do.
