I'm sure they occur somewhere around the world naturally, but these days, its much easier & cheaper to buy home grown cultures.

You will need a small tub with lid, about 3 inchdeep, Porridge oats, Dried yeast. Cook & cool Porridge/O & transfer mixture to tub, sprinkle about 1/2 a teaspoon of yeast on top, Add the WaterWorm culture to the mix, no need to mix. Put lid on and place it somewhere it is warm.

@ventralfins17 жыл бұрын
Potato Flakes and water. Quite simple really

Yeah. They are great to feed baby fish with

do they bite? where do you but them?

@txlec99 depends on the type of fry. Small fry like betta Splendens are going to need something smaller like infusora or vinegar eels. Larger fry like guppies or angelfish can be fed microworms as soon as their yolk sac gets absorbed and they swim horizontally
@ventralfins16 жыл бұрын
They can be fed mostly to fry. They are real tiny, so most adult fish might not even see them. I've used them on killis, angels, bettas, and most livebearers.

For guppies? Either will do fine. Walterworms tend to stay suspended in the water column a little longer, so it may be mildly better.

Hmm... i'm not too sure. Mine are kinda hit or miss. Sometimes they don't climb and sometimes they actually climb to the top of the lid!
@ventralfins17 жыл бұрын
Yep. Just mix until it looks like smooth baby cereal. Preferably on the dry side because it will get more watery as time goes by.

Nah.. they don't bite. I actually sell starter cultures at $3.00 shipping inclusive. I usually list auctions on aquabid or ebay.

I have heard of microworms and walterworms before but I am wondering which would be better for guppies???

i have detailed instructions on my website. ventralfins [dot] com. look for the live food section.
@ventralfins16 жыл бұрын
They reach peak production around 1.5 - 2 weeks. After that, the culture goes downhill.

Can get a culture naturally? And for how long do they live?
@alexspartacus16 жыл бұрын
Did you buy the worms or make them naturally?
@ventralfins15 жыл бұрын
You can get cultures on aquabid[dot]com. No.. mold on your culture is not good! Don't give up, keep trying and you'll get it eventually.
