Would have spent $300+ on aftermarket parts and machining to make the glock have features the PPQ comes with straight out of the box. Also looked at the HK VP9. Bought my PPQ and never looked back, best polymer pistol I've ever shot. In fact I'm pretty much done with polymer pistols for my collection until something beats the PPQ. Starting to look at steel frame pistols to collect now, ie 226, 1911, CZs.

I Love my P99 do to the fact that it has a great feel, trigger and a decocker. I dont have to eject a round than pull the trigger to have it "disarmed". I pull the slide back have an inch after it has been decocked and it is ready to fire again.

Been trying to find a direct ppq and 19 comparison and you are the only one. Thanks bro
@charismainvestments91409 жыл бұрын
I would not hesitate to carry a PPQ, I can double tap and rapid that PPQ like a 1911. At self defense range, vertical muzzle flip is not gonna matter much it actually helps landing head shots. You need a gun that can send a lot of rounds fast. only few can compare to the PPQ trigger as of yet. I have p320, and bp9cc triggers that are close.

Triiger is great on the ppq..But it might be to light for carry..

The Walther PPQ goes head-to-head with any Glock! I think the only place to separate the Walter is the trigger and it just have a great reset

I am a Walther Arms and CZ Firearms fan. So, I own a PDP full size and a CZ P10 full size. Both of them superb, excellent modern combat handguns. Nothing wrong with a Glock. I just like Walther and CZ handguns better, particularly their awesome smooth triggers, among other features.

I also have all three, Love the G19 and 17. I just shoot the PPQ better. There is a little more muzzel flip on the PPQ, the ergonomics and trigger more than compensate for that. Great video, good comparison and break down.

Wow great video. A lot of information. I picked up a PPQ yesterday and I was a bit worried about the size, but my god this thing is so skinny and light. Plus the trigger, ergos, and accuracy? Holy balls.

Actually, the height difference between the PPQ and the G19 is enough to let me know that I wouldn't carry the PPQ. Just passes the no carry zone for me.

Good comparison. I'm a newbie, not sure which one to get, M&P, Walter, CZ 75 or Glock. I've decided on the maintenance issue i.e., replacement of springs (trigger, firing pin, etc), sadly I have not seen one video comparison about internal parts and maintenance. It's always comparing the books by it's cover.
@DuaneBlack689 жыл бұрын
They are basically the same. Both have a catch you pull off basically the same way, pull trigger, slide comes off, barrel and recoil spring come out the same way. Not much difference. Springfield has a lever you flick and not sure about the cz. Go to Z gun store snd they can show you. Kind of like changing oil on your car. They all have filters snd drain plugs but just in a little bit different plsce

Great video!. I own both the Glock 17 and the Walther PPQ M2. My only complaint about the Glock is that every Glock pistol that I've ever owned, has always thrown brass back at me. But it's a design that over the year's, has proven itself to me and I'm very confident in. It's really hard to come up with anything that one can overly fault the Glock pistol with, and I'm sure the same will apply with the Walther PPQ, as time goes on. It really comes down to personnel preference. Which one do you like better.

Nice review. I'd go with the Walther P99 AS full size or compact version for self defense over the PPQ. They're really nice and function well. Still these are good choices.
@confidential65809 жыл бұрын
+Funky Fresh Why? The PPQ is an improvement over the P99. There's no comparison between the triggers.

Please tell me if the slide of the Walther Is easy to rack and if it have Much more recoil than the Glock 42.Also tell me if it wont Hurt a recoil sensitive Person with weak hands.Thanx very Much for your reply
@DuaneBlack687 жыл бұрын
Teeroo Sam I find them roughly the same in those regards. pulling the slide is more of an acquired technique to me than it is harder or easier on any gun, and as guns break in, they get marginally easier, plus you acquire more techniques. i generally find a larger gun more manageable on recoil, and the walther is a little easier to me to handle due to its ergonomics. if you are worried about recoil in a small gun, go for the 380 single caliber stuff though. I've never been very recoil sensitive, the only thing that i ever didn't like was a glock .40 cal in a gen 3. .45s never really bothered me either but I'm a big guy. find a good range that will let you rent a gun. 20 bucks to rent a gun and 20 bucks of ammo to try before you buy is cheap compared to buyinh something you don't like and having to live with it or trade it. any good gun store will let you practice racking slides. i generally find a fast but smooth hand movement to be ideal hope this helps!

What if glock has zev fulcrum trigger would you still choose ppq?
@DuaneBlack688 жыл бұрын
ive never pulled that trigger, but the ergonomics of the grip in the ppq, plus how much more accurate i am with it, make the ppq my choice
@clee67463 жыл бұрын
Walther PPQ is more accurate than the Glock, the magazine is steel which increases the reliability of the functioning of the gun. Walther has a higher bore axis, but that only matters when the grip is loose. Glock is more popular and it has tons of aftermarket accessories you can choose from. You cannot go wrong with either Walther or Glock but my preference is Walther PPQ, it's just personal.

Sorry, this was all over the place. While the odd shape of the PPQ slide may make it a little more conducive for CC, I guess if one is bent on carrying a full size auto this may tip the scale. I really think it boils down to personal preference, which circles back to your GM / BMW analogy. Thus, while I own a German car, my old kicker will get me from here to there nicely. Likewise, I would argue - and it would be impossible to prove me wrong, that any reputable full size auto a Joe like you or I would CC would serve its purpose. The odds that it would work when we need it to, which for the vast number of people out there will be never, nonetheless it will work. I'm not talking about military or service people - who your video is clearly not speaking to because they've already made their decision, just everyone else. So, if the purpose is solely CC my conclusion would be, buy the cheapest gun you can find at a reputable dealer, keep it clean and serviced, and feed it the best fit for purpose ammo as needed. Another indisputable fact is that to your assailant, it won't make any difference if he's nailed by a $300 CZ or a $1,000 P226.
@confidential65809 жыл бұрын
+Brien Williams That's truly horrific advice, Brien. Looking for the cheapest option for a tool for existential defense is just a bad idea unless it's an economic necessity. There are concrete reasons why MIL/LE agencies select from a small ubiquitous pool of arms and the majority of junk on the market doesn't even get consideration. It's a matter of engineering and quality control which will necessarily impacts price. There's not a small difference in reliability and durability between proven duty spec arms and the rest. It's a very large difference easily established by scientific testing. Your example at the end is ok because CZs (steel and aluminum frame models) are every bit as much a duty grade weapon as a Sig, but unless it's a CZ clone or their much less impressive polymer frame models, the price differential is much smaller (but still a win for CZ!). Ask any instructor who teaches a significant number of classes to a significant number of people, any contract armorer, any agency armorer. Cheaper guns are lower quality guns which fail prolifically. If you have to go cheap, buy an older S&W or Ruger revolver and at least get reliability.
@brienwilliams47929 жыл бұрын
+Confi Dential In the context I established, just a regular "Joe" wanting a CC to go bang once in a blue moon when called upon and not a duty carry scenario, I believe I'm right. And to a certain extent you've confirmed it by acknowledging the CZ I mentioned, relative to, say, a P226. At any rate, to be clear, my point relative to the scenario outlined was not "seek the 'cheapest option", rather, "there are relatively inexpensive options amongst the viable choices out there". To elaborate: What I had in mind with my initial response was that there is cross section of "reputable" guns out there that vary in price from say $325 for a SD9VE or CZ (or reputable CZ clone, of which there are many), to a M&P9, to a P320, on to a PPQ or 92FS, then to the ozone level of P30, P226 or beyond. In my view, any of these, if properly maintained and fed good ammo, will all fire with equal confidence. To put it differently, the odds of any of these firearms NOT firing is equally (immeasurably) unlikely. Assuming my assertion is true, why pay for an "ultra-reliable, heirloom quality" P226 at $1000 when you can get a 92FS for about half the price? Of course if I had lots of money I'd probably get the P226 because it feels good to shoot, plus all the other reasons it has a great reputation. However, if I just want a gun to fire when needed in the scenario outlined, a perfectly acceptable and trustworthy alternative can be had for one-third the price. If the scenario is different my opinion would probably be as well.

PPQ vs glock 19?
@michaelmyers49718 жыл бұрын
u keep saying not much difference with the sizes, yet the 19 is CLEARLY smaller. when dealing in half inches and quarter inches, carrying a gun that's smaller makes a difference. I mean u can argue that the ppq and the 17 "don't have much difference either"...
@DuaneBlack688 жыл бұрын
respectable opinion. i said this in reference to all of their size compared to that 42 though. its true that you can keep going a 1/4th bigger here and an 1/8th here and eventually youre carrying a competition size gun though. we all have our limit, but at 230 lbs i can carry any of these. thanks for watching!
@DuaneBlack688 жыл бұрын
and in reference to your other statement, dont know where i said I'm smaller. the square slide on the glock dug into my side where the taper on the glock goes away from my side some and doesnt dig into me. hope that clears things up for you.
