Looks really good Robert! You've had to do quite a lot of troubleshooting &modification, but WOW - it's really paid off!! 😁 👍 👍 If I may bother you with an extremely BASIC question.... How does the whole box of bits WORK?? I mean like, does the trolley pick up power from the rails it rides on? is the trolley self-contained, with battery and R/C unit? How difficult was it to index/program the starting and stopping points? DOES that cool control box come with the kit, or is it aftermarket? ..... You've likely answered most of those, in previous videos. 😉 I would appreciate knowing though. I truly enjoy your video series! Quite informative for ALL skill levels - and that, mate, is a TALENT! As a fellow "experienced" modeller, I can admit that no matter what else I may know or have picked up over the decades..... There is ALWAYS a LOT more to learn!!!! 😁

Carmine now the control box come's with the transfer table , the trolley is powered by the rails and the indexing is quite easy to follow with the instruction booklet Also the transfer table has to be perfectly level or the trolley will struggle to move from one side to the other. Now you need to bye a wall adapter for power which will connect to the control box as well. And also i thought a Turntable would be a better option for a narrow layout as you mention? Hope this helps you and good to hear from you as well. And if you didn't know the old layout has been pulled down and a new one started, but the transfer table will be back but without the extension cheers Robert

+csxmad I've been unrealistically BUSY and buried! 😢 I haven't decided yet, I may still go with turntable.... It looks like, because the Transfer Table makes linear movements, it would require less width... Is that not true? Not ever seeing one, I really had no idea. 😉 To be honest, since my Railroad IS Freelanced, I follow NO particular prototype! (Although I loosely follow the Espee and BN) I had only considered the Table, because it looks and acts cool!! 😁 😉 I've got time to decide... And no, I hadn't heard anything about tearing down your Layout! You're the FIFTH this year. 😲😲 I'm still in the middle of the rebuild from last year. I'm beginning to think that this is a consequence of the interwebs!! 😁 😂 LOL Instead of seeing maybe 3-5 Layouts per year - we now get to see as many as 100 or more per DAY!! So what happens, a lot of us see ALL this work by other people, get FLOODED with ideas...... and invariably start thinking "Hey! I could've done that" or "Damn! I wish I had done it that way!" or even "I really like what he/she did. I'd rather do THAT!" 😨😨 I swear I haven't seen anywhere NEAR this level of indecision, BEFORE the WWW... (And, I won't assume to guess WHY you rebuilt yours, but I have seen quite a lot more going on... Basically because we now have the access to EVERYTHING at ANYTIME! Is it a good thing or a bad thing - that's infinitely debatable!! 😜

Sorry! I REALLY went off on a tangent there!
@csxmad8 жыл бұрын
Carmine the Transfer table is 36.6 cm x 38.2 cm just so you know what the size is and twice as long with the extra pit. And the table is really cool when watching the loco's move from one track to another. Also i like the turntable as well and am thinking about one for myself but not yet and good to hear you went on a tangent lol so cheers to you Robert
@CarmineRC8 жыл бұрын
That's not quite as large as I thought... Considering that all of the storage tracks come out in a straight line, it appears that it would require far narrower space than a Turntable. Although the Turntable would be far less finicky, from all I've heard! Stuff to think about..... Cheers Robert!

Robert, What thickness of styrene strips did you use?
@csxmad8 жыл бұрын
+Mark Galatowitsch Mark these strips came with the table and i have it all packed away at this stage cheers Robert
@markgalatowitsch62108 жыл бұрын
+csxmad Thanks Robert. I'm putting together a table with two extensions so I'll need to cut some longer strips to cover the screws for the reinforcing braces.
@csxmad8 жыл бұрын
Mark Galatowitsch Mark that will be one long table with 2 extension tables added so make sure it all is really level or the transfer bridge will struggle to run. And i thought you where talking about the guard rails in the styrene, the styrene i used to cover the screws was a sheet i had lying around but i don't know how thick it was but any thickness would do as long as it is below the rails, and good luck and cheers Robert
