Got a set of 4, stainless steel version (Penn Central). Very happy with them! Beautifully done, the underbody detailing, fluting and stainless steel finish is EXCELLENT! As of this date, Walthers still has some in stock and are actually cheaper than most of the units that pop up on Ebay. I plan on installing a LokSound setup in one car and silent decoders in the other 3. HIgh five Walthers, thanks ;-).

I would like to see Walthers produce the cab car version used in Amtrak push-pull service.

God I'd take a bucket. I've been watching them pull through Berlin on the Springfield shuttle since I was a kid.

Why are your prices so high

the horn is not what was on the budd metroliner, they had shrilling horns
@ACLTony6 жыл бұрын
You are right. They actually had the Leslie S55/S37 combo horns, which emitted a high pitch European style sound.

Not the most accurate horn, but other than that, great model! I have 2 Amtrak phase I Metroliners and I was very happy with them

I bought one of these and they don't have much pulling power honestly but might go ahead and get the 4 car consist. But is there a bell on these cars because mine which was the DCC sound didn't have a bell...just the horn but the prototype had a bell/chime sound.

+LaQuan Miller Hi LaQuan, the prototypes were built strictly for high-speed passenger service with each car having a single pair of traction motors. When coupled together, each was actually powered, but pulling power was never really a consideration. Our models follow a similar design, with only a single powered truck. Interestingly enough, the actual Metroliners were not equipped with bells, so there's no bell sound included on the models.

These are advertised as running on 24'' inch radius curves but this train doesn't even operate on 26'' radius and barely makes the 28'' radius of my layout. I also bought the Walther's heavyweight passenger car classic series (CNW) and they also say minimum radius 24'' but they're even worse....trucks hit the plastic details and derails on my 26'' radius....I have 26 inner and 28 outer curves and they won't run without derailing. What gives Walthers?

Check the wheels and make sure they're in gauge. Just being off by 2 millimeters can cause derailments on sharp curves.
