To anybody thinking of getting this score, don't if you do not hate your 2nd violin section. The entire 1st page is quarter notes. They do eventually get melody, but there is nothing fun or challenging.

Yeah, I played second violin, however there is the part where you have the b and d and two notes afterwards, which isn't bad. Also it is violin 2 after all.

When I was at the Midwest Clinic, an orchestra before ours played this. Once I heard the first three notes, I vibed. I really wanted to learn this piece, but instantly changed my mind considering I’m only a second chair second violinist, self-taught aside from my conductors. Anyways, the violist was amazing at her solo. I’ll probably never meet you again, violist, but your playing was remarkable! Cheers

That disappointment when you're first chair cello and your section (minus second chair who is like my assistant and the most perfect angel in the world and I want their position so bad because it's literally first chair without the commitment, responsibility, leadership roles.) can't play to save their lives.

My orchestra’s playing this arrangement and I’m playing the bass (thank god it’s an easy part because I’m primarily a cellist) and I can’t resist the overwhelming urge to start waltzing with the bass when I put my bow down and play pizz once the cello solo takes over melody.

Funny because I play second violin and I love playing this. Having the melody is a nice change.
