Hosa is a good company they been around since 1980's or earlier same Pro Co I use both am planning splurge switch to bpta & rattlesnake cables, my email box is flooded with offers by BTPA & Rattle Snake cable co. Pro Co cables are decent I have about three they are hand built solder style very old company same people that make the Rat but think a change for quality is in order. My other favorite is Spectraflex had No issues, with 10 year old standard cable but Pro Co they do have issues like cracking & split. Hosa & Pro Co are music industry standard cable. There's many companies china, off brand are copies of both Hosa & Pro Co. These are off brand sold by musicansfriend etc.

hi brian I'm a professional country entertainer with a degree in electronics I find your pedals the best ive heard because as I listen to them I notice the signals do not degrade in your pedals like they do in most other brands. out of respect of other products I wont mention any names but I think you know what I'm saying. as far as I'm concerned if you want a pristine sound with quality wampler is far above most other brands..im building a new pedal board right now for my show and wampler will be all over my board.LOL love the videos also; Dan The Nashville Performer..

You just earned my respect for giving a shout-out for Tex-Mex. The double-L is said like an English "Y" in Mexican Spanish, so, "rey-YEN-ose" for Tex-Mex; if you say it as "LY" (thus, "rey-LYEN-ose"), that's closer to Castilian Spanish. If you want to have something amazing, try carne guisada or barbacoa. The latter dates to pre-Columbian times, and is truly "made in America." Thanks for the great advice on pedal order, too! :)

Love the videos :) I wouldn't use zip ties for cable management on a pedal board, I'd use a roll of double sided velcro. I work in IT and I use it all the time for cable management, much easier when you come to break things down later. Have you ever thought of doing pedal kits, in the same way that people do kit guitars?

I miss my ADA MP1 preamps, I have them still but I need to overhaul the capacitors and restore them. But, I have found pedals that along with my Boss MS-3 that give me similar results. Plus, I have my Mesa Nomad 100/Two Notes Torpedo Captor 8 setup that I really love now.
@ZigbertD
@ZigbertD 5 жыл бұрын
I had an ADA MP-1! I was kind of seduced by the idea of being able to radically change tones and FX (with additional Digitech FX processor) to anything I wanted by stepping on one button. The reality was that the workflow of spending a lot of time diving into the settings on a little LED display and setting up everything ahead of time in a very meticulous fashion, then just going to the gig and stepping on the controller buttons without much ability to tweak on the fly just wasn't my thing. I ditched it after a couple of years and went minimalist (Strat->Tube Works Real Tube ->Dual Showman). These days I've got an Egnater Rebel 30 combo and use more pedals (including the FANTASTIC Tumnus!) to shape my tone. But in a pinch I can still do a show with just a guitar, single channel amp and good overdrive pedal.

I would love to see y’all make a one stop Power supply. Take a massive amount of power and clean it up for any pedals (I have pedals that need 500ma) and even a separate few outlets for amps and things like a power supply. Maybe even a small backup system inside it for playing on the go for half an hour or something

love your posts :) Very informative. How about running a video on using pedals in front of a modelling amp (obviously a non tube amp)? For example the Marshall Code 100, Vox VT100 etc. While the Code comes with all its presets, sometimes it's just nice to stomp on a box. I'm just curious on your opinion. While personally I am biased toward the Marshall Code 100 combo, the presets are very customisable, but I still have a bank of effects I like to use in front of and via the effects loop of the amplifier.

Great video and great pedals. I have a Tumnus (not the deluxe), Sovereign and a tube screamer. Can you recommend the order I place them. I am using a BOSS MS3 4CM into a MESA BOOGIE JP2C. I dont stack the pedals. I generally use them based on the type of overdrive I'm going for depending on the song. I play everything from Tom Petty to Metallica. So naturally I'll use the amps distortion for the heavy tones and the pedals for more classic rock tunes. I know there are no specific rules, I kinda just want your opinion. Thanks and keep making the videos man. They are very insightful and your topics are practical.
@kzoolou
@kzoolou 6 жыл бұрын
It might be too broad of a topic and you may have discussed it in various formats over the years, but with a new EQ pedal coming out, a primer on how boosting/cutting frequencies at different points in your effects chain can affect what happens next to your signal.would be helpful. I find myself staring at my board going "if I put it here, will it push the mids forward or turn them to mush in the mix?" I know pedal order is all subjective, but I've never seen a great overall explanation of what happens to your tone as it goes through your chain.

I like this kind of video a lot. Been playing as long as you, but kind of new to understanding pedals and effects. Query: I have a few pedals, Is there a resource that you know of that can help me understand, or know exactly what kind of pedals they are? Either a compendium of information about specific pedals, or else a way that I can learn to look at the circuit itself and know. Basically, when I watch a bunch of videos of how to use tubescreamers and Klons etc, I'd like to know where my pedals are on that spectrum so I can utilize the information.

What do you recommend for running extension cords and cables from the amp and power 20 feet behind me upto my board near my mic stand? I'm trying to minimize the cables and extension cords / cables so I'm not stepping on them.

Hey Brian, how about you using Marshall heads from JMP series with les Pauls, as you know most of the gigs guys are playing today are small, but I don't want to give it up, so I've gone to a 1x12 port city cabinet, now what pedals work great for overdrive that I can use, and not get ask to turn it down. I use a RV-6 for reverb, Dunlop wah old one, and Tumnus for overdrive. Just don't need many pedals, but always open, maybe Octave. Thanks
