W,K&S is very cool indeed. My son, my wife, and I all enjoy heading there for a nice leisurely ride or two! Infact, we are going to head there tomorrow for their all day ride event!

I think it has a horn as well as an air whistle. I rode behind the green diesel a few times as well as #2 and #65 in the past but I don't think I rode behind #734 the bigger diesel.

I would have loved to see the Germansville plan happen. Unfortunately the stubborn landowner near Jacksonville/Leaser Lake area south of Rt. 143 blocked any chances of that happening in 1962 when the new tourist railroad was being formed. That’s why the track ends at that odd point along Rt. 143 near Leaser Lake. The stubborn landowner’s property line was just past where the fill was cut away past the end of the line.

@@MPT_Productions I don't know. I emailed them about this and one of the people there said "0-6-0 65 is a work in progress, even as we speak! We are moving ahead with the restoration." So it could be just another coupe of years. And the photos I have seen that were taken in 2019 65 was in the shops.

Strasburg is the only tourist railroad in PA right now where steam runs on a regular basis. Unless New Hope 40 is running as well, and R&N 425 only runs occasionally, but T-1 #2102 is due back soon. I don’t think T-1’s went through Kempton in the Reading days though. But, the existing NS freight line from Evansville south meets the NS former Conrail and Reading main at Temple just north of the BM&R station that is currently unused. That’s the south end of the S&L branch. Track from North Albany to Evansville was removed in 1972. The Reading pulled out of Kempton as freight traffic dried up, and the WK&S was donated the track to North Albany.
