I know what you mean by not being your favorite. Portions can drag, especially if you don't like the pov. Personally, I got into this series for it's slice of life. I love the down time where the characters and world are explored and then BAM! The plotlines come together for drama and excitement. I feel so much more invested in the action. Then we get recuperation before build-up to the next big thing. I think the down time prevents me from getting burned out. Other series are all action and can be fun... until they're not. Here, we get highs and lows which keeps it fresh. That's my take.

I have never thought about it like that! I completely agree with the burnout on some other series that run long and go from one fight to the next. I imagine that's why the TWI community is so popular! Great perspective!

Trey gets a really good arc in the future that is worth staying in the loop with the King chapters. Chandrar becomes extremely important in general too. Also I definitely foresaw the slow pace critique coming, volume 6 is a much slower pace out of all the novels imo. But I think that is because you are waiting for really important things to happen but vol 6 and even vol 7 to some extent is really all a set up for what comes in vol 8, and that vol is insane.

I had no idea! Thank you Mr. K for keeping me in the loop on Vol 8. As I mentioned in though video (though I slightly flip flopped), build up in a series this long is definitely needed. It is probably it's largest advantage. Since Pirate is continuously writing ad posting, they have the opportunity for long term building to a huge payoff, without keeping most their audience waiting a whole year for the next book. It's a big pro if you can read along! Though, in my case, I have to wait months until the next audiobook. But hey! That's life lol.

Man this books long, it's taking me 3 months to get from book5 to book 9.

This is apparently only the tip of the iceberg my friend. I think there are about 20 more to be audio recorded after this one.

I am a webnovel reader but I think that it was here where I realised that while I'm still not a fan of Flos himself - everyone else around him and in Chandrar is as first rate as the rest of the cast.

Completely agree Helen!

Volume 6 starts really slow... and i do not think it ever goes fast. It has some really great series of chapters down the line and it has amazing character development but, for some sections... barely anything happens. This was the first part of the novel i read in the web serial (due to running out of ebooks back in august) and i regard it as one of the worse sections of the books, certainly the worst of the post 5 volumens. All this to say that there are still great moments happening ahead and i enjoyed hearing your thoughts :D

Hey there! I have heard similar opinions with it being one of the slower volumes. I recently started book 11, and I am enjoying it, yet I can tell this volume may be more foundation building then action oriented.

Books definitely needed to slow down, but hard to like this one as much as the others lol. Erin POVS were mid at best, winter solstice vibes, but Flos’s parts slapped

It sounds like this volume is a slow one, but at the same time, it needed to be. Book 11 was great though.

I’m deeply disappointed in that the book title has almost no Ryoka in it after the first part of the book. I really hope there is a lot of pushback on Pirateaba for the highly deceptive title.
@FantasyInk11 ай бұрын
To play Devil's Advocate for one moment. Pirateaba is definitely in a pickle when picking these titles, since she is always writing and never really breaks up the story into defined books/ endings. I assume she decided to pick the story line that is most prevalent to the audience which is why book 11 was titled "Titan of Belarus"" Though I do agree with you that a title that could encompass the whole book would be preferable.

Ryoka being back is not a good thing, i've only read the first two books and shes awful.

She gets a lot of character development. She recognizes that she has a lot of faults and tries to become a better person. I’m a webnovel reader and it’s after this arc and the next few that she becomes one of my favorite characters, even though I disliked her before.

Could not have said it better myself! Thank you Jesse!

I agree with Jesse about her development. Though, I do have respect for early Ryoka, which i cannot say for early Erin.

Ryoka sucks still even in later volumes. Like a spoiled adolescent teen with 0 emotional immaturity. With a splash of dumbness
