If you really want to enjoy the beauty of the U.S., you must either drive from Chicago to various cities and/or Amtrak train(s) from Chicago to Seattle (the train is Empire Builder from Chicago to Seattle). There are Malayali associations and Indian (north/Kerala) restaurants in most metro cities. If you have no contacts in some cities, you could contact the Malayali associations or Kerala temple/church (Orthodox, Marthoma, Zero Malabar, Pentacostal or IPC), groups for guidance and assistance. So, have fun of the world's largest economy. I am writing this with my 42-state (out of 50) travel by road which covered almost all major cities.
