The man in front of the tank represents the Tiananmen Square massacre. It was such an iconic image and a metaphor for the people standing against the oppression. The British control of Taiwan is set to expire and the Chinese are threatening to take over by force if necessary. I don’t mean to be political but I do think the history of what is represented by the art sculptures is very interesting

Thank you Sarah for filming this. I didn't know this existed. I do remember lots of the history of the CCP and I absolutely remember that "doctor whistle blower". I've heard so many tragic stories over the years of people who fled China due to the horrible realities they were subjected to. I will likely watch this again.😢

Now that winters coming, that is a definite destination for me. Very interesting, I've got a friend who was born in Hong Kong, his parents were some of the refugees from the "cultural revolution." When I was in the military I was in Hong Kong after the British handed it over to the Chinese, even back then you could tell the culture was changing. Then when I met my friend, he told me about his parents and how they thought is was a bad idea for the British to turn Hong Kong to the Chinese govt.

I've seen other videos of this from other KZbinrs.... including your pal Wonderhussy! Very interesting stop for sure. I felt so bad for the sculpture of the woman in chains ⛓️ and to hear what she had to endure all those years, being a sex slave, gang raped 😮😢 so horrific and horrifying....that poor woman! 😩 Thanks for stopping at this place, and sharing it's history for those who may have not known anything about this place, but have seen it and driven by on their way to Vegas.
