Hey guys, entire Kerala is beyond beautiful but Alleppey specifically is our most favourite. Honestly, we did not expect much from it as in most of the videos we have only seen people going for the house boat experience but Alleppey is so much more and we are so glad that we spent time exploring all those places.
Day 1:
Alleppey is known for its beautiful backwaters, so we had to start our day with a Shikara ride. So there are 4 main ways to explore backwaters. (We have explained all of them in the video).
It was a 3 hour shikara ride and we did it early morning between 6:30 AM to 9:30 AM. It was an amazing experience.
Time: Sunrise to Sunset
Cost: INR 800 per hour (costing can vary from 500 to 1000 per hour on the basis of season and the type of Shikara you book).

After that we went to see Light House, which is 150 years old lighthouse and the oldest in South West Coast of India. It's a very beautiful lighthouse and from top you can see a panoramic view of Alleppey town but stairs are quite steep, so would not recommend to climb up to any one who has knee problems.
Time: 10:00 am to 5:00 pm
Entry Fees: INR 10
We ended our first day with watching sunset on Alleppey beach. It was a very peaceful experience and we also had coffee in a cafe called Catamaran which is right on the beach.
No Entry Fees
Day 2:
Kerala is. known as God's Own Country for a reason, Nature and Spirituality are both in abundance here. Alleppey is home to one of the famous Krishna temple known as Ambalapuzha Temple. A typical Kerala temple with Kund in between, a very authentic design and the whole experience was really really peaceful and special. Special because we were dressed up in traditional local attire.
Also, if you come here don't forget to try Pal Payasam.
Time: Morning 3:00 AM to 12:00 PM and Evening 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
No Entry Fees
After getting changed, we went to Coir Museum. Coir is basically Coconut fibre and using that different products are made like mats, rugs, carpets, which are exported to 80 countries.Alleppey has the GI tag of coir museum. You can even see this museum while going back to Kochi or while coming from Kochi as it is on the way.
Time: 9:30 AM to 5:00 PM
Entry Fees: INR 20
Our next stop for the day was a very important pigrimage site for Catholics as well as Hindus - Arthunkal Church. It is so heartwarming to see how different cultures coexists so peacefully in Kerala.
Time: 5:00 AM to 9:30 PM
We ended our day 2 and Alleppey trip with Marari beach. It's little bit far from main Alleppey town, it takes around 30 to 40 mins to reach but it's a very very beautiful white sand beach.
No Entry Fees.
