Absolutely LOVE Crater Lake! We were watching the video yesterday. I told my daughter that we will have to hike the Rim Trail. My daughter was excited to see Rim Village. She said, "We were there!"

Hiker once told me you can lose mosquitoes at 3.3 mph. Can’t hike that fast so I won’t ever know. Only 188 miles left on my AT journey. Enjoy seeing where you guys are during my breaks.

Nice section! I just came back from JMT/PCT - Reds Meadow! Hiker Box is stuffed. 104F at Upper Crater Meadow. PCTers were looking pretty ragged. Be safe in this heat.

Love Crater Lake. My son cross country skied around the lake in February about 5 years ago. By himself. Big snow pack then. Took him 3 days. Lovely place in the summer. Love your videos. Safe travels.

My daughter, grandson and I stayed in a motel room, got up very early in the morning to catch the boat, and hiked to the top of Wizard Island in 2012. He was 6 and scampered to the top like a little goat. By the end of the day we were dragging but he was still full of energy.

I detoured to Maudlin Lake to get water also but camped there as well. No trail angel water for me way back in the day. Love your journey and the wonderful presentation of it. Beautiful Crater Lake. Is it still so hot? Glad there's a lot of water along the way. The camping sites look really nice. We were hiking in the woods on the 4th and the bug were bad here. We just used spray so no benefit from the anti aging nets. On the 4th of July we were blessed with our 1st great-grandchild, a girl. Take care, be safe.

Well ... another great video from you three. Love your use and choice of music too. Curious ... I'm assuming your sprayed your clothes with permethrin ... did it help at all? Also, what's the max amount of water you were carrying at any one time? I remember hauling up to 6.5 liters on the Hat Creek Rim. From the way you're describing Oregon ... am wondering if it might be similar. Anyway ... congrats ... you seem to be making (and having a) GREAT time!

I would probably say the PCT. Hoever, The Appalachian Trail is hard but you have more support and less days between resupply. All three trails are hard in different ways.
