every time i watch one of your videos i play a little game i like to call "is this song by Yoko Shimomura" i was correct for all three of the songs that i guessed were her work, she composed for Bowser's Inside Story (as well as the Kingdom Hearts series which is where i am familiar with her music from), and somehow I can just go "oh snap that's her" just based off of the vibes. Dimble Woods has similar vibes, musically, to the KH1 Wonderland and Monstro themes. In The Final has similarities to many of the boss fight themes, though I think the main vibes I'm getting are one of the songs from The World That Never Was? after some research I have determined that I was right, it does sound similar to the battle theme from TWTNW, just a bit slower, and with a bit more of a final boss vibe. apologies for going on a music rant in your comments, at least the algorithm will like it?

Something I've started doing at the beginning of playthroughs is collecting the abandoned mineshaft rails to make a sky way, rails themselves are super cheap as well. Once you've got a neat skyway you can put platforms or conveyors under them to quickly collect stars so you can ACTUALLY use a star cannon in a playthrough. It takes less time than people think with smart cursor

@@jake_from_statefarm7209 it takes 4 vertical blocks to ride a minecart so once I've found the perfect altitude I tend to dig through mountains to avoid Harpies on smaller worlds. People don't do this anymore because getting Pillars is as easy as placing the Arms Dealer next to the Nurse, but having a perfectly horizontal line going through your world has a multitude of benefits that last passed the end game.

Frost armor isnt actually the best you can get! The laser drill drops from regular enemies in the martian madness event and would allow you to mine chlorophyte, letting you make shroomite or turtle armor!

Here's a new suggestion stemming off of this challenge Start I a world where the pillars are already in the world. This will greatly hinder your movement to basically a v shape. I'll let you choose from there what your rules are. BTW, I'm actually going this challenge myself. It's a classic mode world and the set up was done by hand. My rule is that if I lose to the moon lord, I lose all pillar based items and have to respawn in the world with the pillars back up (by killing the cultist with my best player).

What about doing a challenge run where you can only use weapons associated with the world evil? There's a pretty wide range of weapons across progression with the evil ore, the orbs, the hardmode fished weapons, the biome mimics, and the and the biome chests. Probably would make sense to do it on a drunk world so you have both evils.

before even watching this video i already got a simple route for this kind of run in my head. make it to hell to get enough hellstone by bombing it, than get up to Adamantite/Titanium gear, get wings and basic accessories, go to the HM dungeon and get Ectoplasm and what ever weapons you can, like Specter Staff, Shadowbeam Staff, Tactical Shotgun or Palladin's Hammer, than gor for Laser Drill in the Madness event, mine Chlorophyte for Specter armor or going for Shroomite with Chlorophyte Bullets and using Tactical Shotgun to kill ML. you can get Specter Wings, Mothron Wings or Steampunk Wings for ML. obviusly this route would be pretty grindy, though you can just fish for HM ores, though that might take longer than bombing Hellstone would, and Madness would be very long, but that's the best i can come up with at a moments notice.

Terraria but you start by the last boss and progresses to king slime, killing each boss just 1 time, in expert mode, then when you beat king slime you set it to master mode and go the normal order again. It would have a very difficult beginning like this one, but after you defeat moonlord you would have a pretty good weapon to progress through the other bosses in reverse order. What i like about this is that it would actually use a moonlord weapon, since after you get one, the run is usually immediately over.

ok now that i finished watching the video, great stuff. and yeah full Shroomite and Chlorophyte bullets with the Tactical Shotgun would probably ben easier, but you still managed to do it without that, so good on you. also you could have grinded the Old one's Army for meddls, since you won't need to kill Betsy, and get 1 of those armors for ML, just came to mind while watching. i might try something similar on Calamity where all 41 bosses are killed, and only Scal remains, so could i get through and get gear that is good enough to kill her when 50% of all calamity progression is through boss drops.

My plan as of rn, that I'm streaming the actual run, is to next go to the dungeon to get ectoplasm, for cores of havoc, for my armor, I just got Murasama, but I'll use it only for the hearts and probably birds, but my main Scal dps, will be the Soul Edge from the Abyss

Disregarding Laser Drill drop for luck and breaking progression, a Nail Gun would likely not have been my first choice for a Ranger weapon in this challenge. Even without event drops, the Dungeon would still hold items like the Rocket Launcher and the Sniper Rifle, both good options for consistent, if slow damage. The better choice though might have been to go with Forbidden Armor for the summon buff and because you can still pickup the Shadowbeam Staff or the Inferno Fork from the Dungeon, both excellent mage weapons. There was also the Paladin Hammer for a melee option, alongside all of the other Biome Chest drops.

I did a similar challenge once. I made a world with calamity and beat every boss without building any structures with a post supreme calmitas and exomechs on deathmode before I brought in a brand new character and started from the beginning. It was a very, very unique playthrough. It was both faster and slower because I could outright skip many bosses, but gathering materials was a lot slower until I didn't instantly die anymore. I first got going when it rained on like the third day and I spend like half an hour bullying a warrior goldfish until I got it's magic dagger and could then actually kill stuff.

Hey, if you want an idea for a run, consider one that massively cranks up enemy spawns and maximum spawns. I've been playing it with some friends at 25x spawns and it's been hilarious and actually kinda fun. It changes the way someone approaches the game in a really interesting way, I feel! Would love to see your problem skills at play in a run like that, honestly.

as i mentioned im 1 of my comments, i got curius if a similar run was possible in calamity, and i'm extreamly happy to say it is, the entier run took me 15 hours, and in total i did 58 death mode Scal attempts, i originally tride to do this with the exact same rules you used in the video, but after 50 attempts i was stuck on the Brothers phase, so i added the Lunar event in full to the run, since if i don't kill at least cultist to get the Ancient Manipulator ment i was stuck to pre-cultist crafting, meaning i would asways be 2 shot no matter what. and honestly geting the Ancient Manipulator didn't get me much, just the next tier of armor and better wings, with 2 upgraded defensive accessories. i'd say that the better wings were the deciding factor in the fight, since now with Terragon Wings i had mobility similar to what you'd have in the fight, so i could properly dodge the 2 shot attacks. at the end of the day this was a fantasctic intelectual problem to figure out what and how much i could actually get in the world and the fight with Scal was more so a test of patiance than anything. Thank you a lot for the idea.

The setting itself is possible to do on journey mode afaik, but I'm afraid things like Plantera and the Cultists won't spawn after you kill the mechs and Skeletron respectively Edit: actually, forget it, it might be fully possible, since the cultists just spawn when Golem is defeated, and you get a guaranteed plantera bulb after the mechs are dead. (It will be a single chance at Plantera tho)

I was saying if you can only fight Moon Lord and whatever boss is not Moon Lord, despawns would have a lot of troubles since you can’t get good expert boss loot nor can you get awesome boss weapons but what I thought of the most is the challenge not being possible at all as you have to kill main game bosses to reach Moon Lord but you can’t, like for example you can’t enter Hardmode without killing the Wall of Flesh, you can’t kill Golem for the Cultist and etc.

i understand that certain bosses *need* to be dead in order for the moon lord to be summoned, but i feel like since you need plantera to die to get tiki armor, it should be off limits. same with the more difficult dungeon drops, basically anything that indirectly is caused by a boss dying. the most extreme example being anything from the Hallow, but i would consider that a gray zone as that depends on where the line would be drawn (ie "no hardmode drops", as WoF needs to die to put the world into hard mode, would be really unreasonable)
