Because she sided with her brother who was falsely accused by politicians and scheming ministers as a traitor / rebel / criminal. Her hidden intention was to intentionally side with her brother,even though she knew she'd die. She did that inorder to protect the king. Because she knew if she would side with the king instead of her brother general and continue living, the lead of corrupt ministers, Bak Chung Heong would have used her to pressurize the King. She as the queen and the king's wife, didn't want to be his weakness. She loved him truly.
